Morning Run - Legendary

I just finished a 6.905km running that lasted about 0hh:39mm:29ss !

It had rained in the night and so was pretty wet out, but I just felt a few drops as I headed out before breakfast. It was still relatively warm compared with recent weeks. I did my regular job up to Fairfield, but am still not feeling like doing intervals. I need to get back into that soon.

There is a Strava segment on the way up the hill that I just became the 'Local Legend' for. That just means I have done it more than anyone else over 90 days. It looks like someone has done it one less time than me, so I may lose the title soon. I would like to do other routes anyway.

It was not too bad a run and I did feel I was doing a little better than other recent runs. That translated into managing 5 seconds per kilometre better than Tuesday and my best pace in a while.

I pay for the premium features on Strava and one of those that I had not seen before is a graph of 'fitness and freshness'. I do not fully understand it, but my score has gone down a bit lately. It dropped when I had some time off running, but is ramping up again. It must be based on cumulative effort.

parkrun is due to restart in a few weeks, but it is bound to be different for now. I also had an email about the Greenway Half wanting an estimate of my finish time. I wonder if they will do a staggered start to reduce crowds.

Run free and stay well..

Ooh, that is awesome that park run is going to be starting back up. I bet you are looking forward to that. I tried adding some new movements to my routine the other day and I am really feeling it this morning. Nice job on your run. Hopefully the rain is done for a while over there.

I know lots of people are desperate for events to start up again. Many started running during lockdown, so have never done one.

Actually it's raining now. Been a pretty wet week generally.

It's good you mentioned parkrun. I had already seen it in some of your posts, but didn't know what it was exactly. So I checked and it seems it's also in the US (very few compared to UK) including one not far from me. Of course, it's also suspended for now, but it seems it could restart at the end of the month. That looks like fun.

It seems to be biggest in the UK, but it could take off elsewhere. It needs volunteers who will turn out every week. I helped out once on a horrible cold and wet day. People still ran.
