Morning Run - Back and forth

I just finished a 5.779km running that lasted about 0hh:33mm:9ss !

Last night I was out playing a gig in Hitchin as part of @swing47. It went well with a small, but appreciative audience. I am constantly amazed that people are not scared off by my singing.

So it was a slightly late night for when I had work in the morning, but I was eventually up to go running. I fancied a change and so ran straight through Arlesey to the cemetery at the south end. I did divert down some side streets to get away from the traffic. It is a pretty flat route. I managed a segment personal best on the way back, but I do not run that stretch very often. I am sure I could do it quicker if I specifically went for it. Maybe I should map out some local segments where I could improve.

I saw my running buddy Jon who had been dropping his kids at school. I expect we will run together again soon.

It was quite nice out today, so I got pretty warm. With all the recent rain the garden is going mad, so I will have more work to do there over the weekend. Monday is a holiday here.

Run free and stay well.

Nice to see your gigging already! got my first on the 2nd of July.....am hoping I'll have another well before then though, genuine question: do you ever get nervous still? Last time I performed in a professional venue I think I was but are you like me in that it sort of dissapates the moment you get a good reaction? I !LUV that

I don't seem to get nervous, but I am frustrated that my dodgy hand lets me down. I have not had a bad audience reaction in my limited experience. A lot was playing to friends, so that was supportive. This is not big stakes stuff with just a couple of free drinks and a few tenners between us as pay. Danielle who I play with is really good and it's an honour to play with her.

Thats really really nice though when theres no onus that if you mess up its game over and its more about having fun then whilst also making other people happy I love those type of shows! Damn I just love music too much 😂

That is what you should do, map out the local segment where you can improve more

Nice job on the run! We had a 40 degree swing in the temps last night and it has actually become a little chilly here. Even though I was sweating after my workout this morning I needed a bit of a warm up!

Looks like it is warming up here for the next week. Maybe the pool will come out soon.

Now that I have recovered from the Coronavirus, I am a bit weak, so I will start training like you do.

Hope you are improving. Take it gently, but getting out for walks or runs should do you good.

It's always a pleasant surprise to see a personal best on a segment. Unless, of course, it's the first time running that segment, then it's rather a given. I've been looking at a few of my riding segments and think I can push myself a little more to improve my bests, too. It's a good feeling to see improvement, particularly as I continue to age.

It's a race between age and fitness ;) I'd hope I still have potential to improve.
