Morning Run - Off to school

I just finished a 12.684km running that lasted about 1hh:13mm:23ss !

It has been very wet during this week with floods in places near us. It was not raining this morning though. I decided to do a different run today, but was partly making it up as I went along. As I started off a black squirrel ran across the road. I then saw a couple of rabbits on the ramp up to the bridge over the railway. I took the track up past Chamney's health spa, which looked to be busy with lots of cars there. I went straight up past the middle school to the main road and then turned off towards Clifton. That road is a bit up and down.

I took a back alley towards the church where the nice houses are. The big empty one looks to be being worked on as a digger was in there. By the duck pond I turned off to take the back road. At the end of that road is the upper school my kids went to. They always got a lift or took the bus to get there. It is probably about 5km by the shortest route, so would have been viable to cycle, but some of the roads can be busy.

I came back through the main drag in Clifton and then on to Henlow. To avoid the noisy main road I went around the back to rejoin the way I came. There were a load of people doing some exercise bootcamp on the green.

There is a little track past the campsite that kept me away from the road and comes out near the river where I can get into the station to use the footbridge. Climbing that was the first time I walked on this outing after 10km. Then I just took various side roads to get home whilst adding a bit more distance. I might have opted for a slightly longer run, but this was enough today.

We had to do some tidying and prepare things for some friends coming over for lunch, but we had both kids at home for a change. It was not sunny, but we still sat out on the deck and used the BBQ. It is father's day. I had some beers and some chocolates from the kids. I will review the beers soon.
