Morning Run: Back for (late) breakfast

I just finished a 11.601km running that lasted about 1hh:7mm:0ss !

It was a nice morning today. Dry and a little cool, which suits me for running.

I decided to do a variant on my Sunday loop, but do it clockwise for a change. You see different things when you go the other way. As I headed to Stotfold I decided to go straight through and run up to the Grange where the Letchworth parkrun happens. That does involve a bit of a climb, but I was up for that. I am actually starting to enjoy hills.

I have not done that parkrun for a while and I was going the opposide way on the course up the farm track, which is pretty rough in places. My legs seemed to cope okay. After passing through the recreation ground I had the steep hill to run down. I was watching my footing there and actually was not so quick.

Then I went around Fairfield and down West Drive back to Arlesey. The pace was not too bad overall, but then I was not going for speed. I did manage a couple of 3rd best segment times.

When I got home I found I was locked out. I tend not to take keys for my Sunday run and everyone had gone out without checking if I had any. I let them know and waited around for a while. I could at least have an apple from the tree to keep me going and I did a bit of gardening. Then I sat in the summer house for a while listening to my podcasts as it was a little cool once I stopped running. Breakfast ended up being about 10am. I did really enjoy my hot shower after that.

Since then I have been cutting the hedge and getting pretty warm again. It is a really nice day for late October, but it is feeling like we are heading to winter with the trees changing colour. @tdctunes may be trying to keep summer going, but I quite like the changing of the seasons.

Run free and stay well.

I'm impressed by anyone doing regular running - really well done!

I actually managed a run this week - just 3km which is my standard - first one for a few weeks. I have been doing 1 PT session a week though and I walk and cycle a bit so I've at least kept regularly active.

I DO actually like the different seasons in any normal year. It's just this year that I've decided to cancel Autumn and Winter and extend Summer 2021 till Spring 2022 and I'm having a fun time doing it! (er... so far...)

We all need a bit of exercise, especially if the job means sitting all day. It helps keep me sane.

I think your summer extension is a great idea and it will give you something to post about.
