Afternoon Run: Late dash

I just finished a 7.663km running that lasted about 0hh:43mm:12ss !

The weather yesterday was not great. I decided not to go out first thing as it was raining and it was only late afternoon when it looked like a good time to run. There were lots of puddles and my feet got a bit wet. I noticed my Asics are developing some holes. It really is time for new shoes.

I opted for the short version of the Arlesey > Stotfold > Fairfield loop to get a run in. I was mashalling at parkrun this morning, so I wanted to get my total for the week up. It was a reasonable pace for me, but I did not go all out. There is a long climb from Stotfold up to Fairfield which is not steep, but just seems endless. I did quite well on that.

It was getting dark by the time I got back. I saw someone almost crash their car as I came through Arlesey. They were pulling out in front of another car who hooted and so nothing happened.

parkrun was pretty wet today and turnout was down on previous weeks. I think the Henlow course is starting to get more muddy in places. I was stationed on the corner where people arrive from the car park. When the runners passed me a guy with a child in a buggy was leading and he went on to win. Despite the conditions I did wish I had been running, but they need some volunteers each week to keep it going.

It was getting a bit cold just standing there, but I enjoyed seeing all the runners. I just had to wait for the tail walkers to come around before I could take up the signs and help pack up. Then it was a walk home for a coffee. I should be running there next Saturday..

Run free and stay well.

Those shoes have done about 1200km. They have been good, but they are worn out now.

Oh really? That means you might replace them anytime soon and you probably could go for same product or 'Nike'!🤔

I've never enjoyed running and running in the rain sounds awful to me. It's great that you're dedicated enough to go out even in bad weather. Good on you!

Good thing that car accident didn't happen. Thank God for horns!

I don't mind the rain when I know there's a warm house and a shower waiting for me. I'm not the biggest fan of mud, but some people seem to love it. This run would not get as muddy as another I've done.

Lots of elevation gain and loss on that, definitely needed the right runners for this one! Glad you had a great time!

Anyway you could give me a quick run-down on "Exhaust"? Is it similar to my "ActiFit" dailies? Thanking you in advance! Stay safe brother! Will be looking into myself as well :)

It's a bit different from Actifit in that there is no mobile app. You have to upload activities to the site, but there is sync with Strava. No special tokens, but you may get a vote for posting with it. Just log in. It seems aimed at more serious athletes rather than just counting steps. It's anther option.
