Morning Run: Pace maker

I just finished a 6.941km running that lasted about 0hh:38mm:39ss !

Another day, another run and it is one I have done plenty of times. I just aimed to keep up a reasonable pace up the hill to Fairfield. It was quite mild again.

It is over 1km to West Drive, so I get to warm up on the flat before starting the climb. It is not very steep, but it makes for a workout. I did the clockwise loop of the estate, but did not go all out for a best time. It was still fairly good though. The ups and downs of that track make it challenging. Luckily I did not have to stop too long to cross the road.

I tried to keep the pace up as I came back down the hill without going crazy. Overall the pace was decent and I did get quicker as I went on. I was well under my average for this route.

As I got near home my left foot felt a little sore around the inside of the arch. There was nothing that looked like it was rubbing on my shoe, but I do seem to have a bit of a blister there. That foot has also had a couple of sore toes for a while, but those pre-date these shoes. Generally I do not have problems with my feet.

I have volunteered for parkrun again as they needed marshals. I just got a text to say I can get my COVID booster up the road on Saturday, so will do that first. I had been trying to book it online, but it was impossible to get anything there.

Run free and stay well.

Good job! 👍 Imma start getting back to distance running but it's difficult as our jogging stroller can only accomodate one of the kiddos. But I suppose we can always buy two.

My goal is 18 min 3 mile or 5k which was almost obtained during my time in the Marines but eluded me by about 45 seconds or so. Good luck with your booster!

No hard feeling about the unfollow. I understand our political ideologies are diametrically opposed. Some things can't be avoided.

I see people push their kids when they run and some are quicker than me. I'll never be super quick, but I think I can improve.

We do have different politics and I needed to trim my feed a bit. Still wish you well. If you care about other people then maybe we are not so different :) Of course we both care about Hive. I think it should be open to all, but of course that can lead to conflict. Just have to deal with it.

That is always annoying when you have that slight pain and you aren't sure what it is but you can't really stop because you have to get back to wherever. I have had that while I was walking before. I hope it gets better soon. We are hitting temps of 60 with winds in the 60mph range, so not much outdoor exercise going on today despite the temps. Actually trying to run into the wind would likely be a really good workout right now!

That's some rough weather. I hope all is okay with you. The weather here has been good for running lately, so I want to make the most of it. Will still be muddy at parkrun.

Little injuries can be annoying, but I can rest it for a few days and it should be fine. I was nearly hope when I noticed it today.

We have been fairly okay. They had to call school today because we lost partial power. My parents were without power for a couple of days because of trees falling on lines.

Nice work!

Too bad about the blister. Those are never fun.

Good luck with you upcoming booster shot. I hope that goes well.

Cheers. I see others have a lot more foot issues, so I may be relatively lucky. I know some people get a bad reaction to the booster, but I'd rather get over that before Xmas.

Yeah makes sense. I'm getting it on the 7th of January so we will see how that goes.
