Morning Run: Frosty

I just finished a 6.944km running that lasted about 0hh:39mm:35ss !

It was cold again this morning with a good coating of frost everywhere. My foot is still not 100%, so I just did a lap of Fairfield again, but in the opposite direction to Tuesday. It is the same amount of climbing regardless, but I like variety.

Despite the cold there were a lot of birds around. I think I saw a robin, blackbird and pigeons. Lots of dogs out with their owners too, including some people I know. I do not stop to chat.

As usual I was slower on the first 2km or so. It takes me that long to really get going. It was a reasonable pace overall that was about average for me on that route. Strava gives me lots of stats on that so I can see any progress.

After a few minutes I do not really feel the cold on my bare legs, much admired by some ;) I did keep my gloves on though.

I may be doing stuff on Saturday, so I am not sure if I will get to parkrun. I did see the nearest event was featured in a local magazine (page 18). Maybe we will see lots more people there soon. They could do with a bit of a boost to keep the volunteer positions filled.

Run free and stay well.

Great. The season has interrupted my outdoor runs. With gyms closed due to the new variant, I am replying on indoor exercise and stretching. Good luck with the weekend stuff.

An indoor workout is better than nothing. I would do one if the weather were really bad.

Stay well and enjoy your weekend.

When I'm running I just keep on going. I will just say hello as I pass.

Hard to get the muscles warmed up in this weather, running is not for me anymore (I did do a lot of training in my youth (as i was obsessed with joining the army) - Don't do yourself an injury! I weighed 9.5 stonne before the medication doubled my weight in a year at the age of 26/7 (horrible experience). Live long and prosper. 🎼

I seem to warm up okay and I am wary of injury. Takes longer for us old guys to heal.

Nice job on your run. I wasn't very great with working out this week. I wasn't feeling 100% though, so I really needed to take that time to let my body heal. I hope to get back to the grind next week.

Hope you feel better soon. Sometimes you need to ease off a bit.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I took a Covid test today and it was negative, so I am hoping it is just a bit of a cold.
