I always like to get out for a longer run on a Sunday when I have the time for it. Today I headed north towards Langford. I started off going up past the station and the parkrun course. It was fairly overcast, but not too cold. I took the track up past Henlow Grange (now Champney's spa) and stopped to take a photo. I have never been in there, but others in the family have. My son worked there for a while.

From there I took the track past the fishing lakes. There is a big area that has been cleared up there, but I do not know what for. There were also some scaffolding structures in one of the lakes that were only just above the surface. I wonder if they are for a platform. I will probably see on a future run.

Up at Langford I ran along by the road for a while, but I try to avoid that. I took a diversion through Baulk Wood where there were more snowdrops and a squirrel. Then it was back to the road through Henlow. I looked for a path around the back of the park, but that was a dead end. Instead I ran across the park. It is in a big dip, so there was a steep climb on the other side.

Then it was back to the way I came. I should note that I had a lot of head wind on the way back that made it harder. Once I got back to the bypass I crossed to take the farm track across the fields. That is very open and so the wind was fierce. A few people were out walking there.

The last bit was through the Mill Pits where a couple of guys were fishing, then over the railway bridge. It was not as muddy as the last time I went through there a week ago.

It was a fairly good run at a steady pace. I just scraped under 6min/km. I was ready for a shower and a coffee after that.

Run free and stay well.

I see the weather is about as good as it is here. @bingbabe is doing a half-marathon down in Aintree somewhere. I'm staying in... too damn cold for me!

The wind was more of an issue than the temperature. Can always have more layers. Wishing @bingbabe all the best for the race.

I wish I would have time to run longer but…currently it’s difficult for me.
Good run btw!
