Change To The Strava2Hive Service

One of the main reasons the @strava2hive service was set up, was to allow people to ability to easily create Hive posts using their Strava activities. The goal was to keep true to Hive’s original philosophy in writing engaging blog posts to share with the community, and also including Strava activity details, photo’s, screenshots, etc. I tend to not make too many changes as the code is working and don’t really want to do anything to mess this up.

So this change has been a long time coming where, we have only been able to add one picture from Strava to our Hive posts. You might have already noticed, but you can now add two images from your Strava activity, including your activity screenshot. I know this is not a big change, but hopefully allows everyone to create even better posts with this option. If people feel the need to add in more images into their posts, let me know as this could be something to add at a later date.

As you can see from the screen shot below from user @dejan.vuckovic, this comes up pretty nicely in web browser. You can see the original post here:

Is There Anything Else That Might Help

Moving forward, I will look at making some minor changes to the template that creates the posts, but if there is anything you think should be added in there, please let me know. It might just be something small, but make a big difference in the appearance or engagement of the posts.

Remember To Engage With The Community

There are quite a few people using the service now, so make sure you are engaging with the community, upvoting posts, commenting, welcoming new members, and posting valid(real) activities.

If you are interested in using the service, please access the following link, as this will be able to give you the full details on what you need to do to get started using the service: https://hive.blog/hive-176853/@strava2hive/strava2hive-frequently-asked-questions

Thanks for the mention! I looked at this very post a day ago to see what it looked like and what bothered hivewatchers about it this time :) I thought it looked very nice, and I don't remember it being possible to see more photos before :)
Looks good, keep up the great work!

I am glad about this change. Thank you.
There are some post, where is no map, only the log in site , what I can see. It's a pitty. I would rather see the activity stamp, that is more personal and interesting

Thanks for letting me know, I will look a little closer to see when the posts are made with no map and see if there is a problem there.

Awesome improvement! A tag that can be added to activities you dont want to post via hive could be nice and maybe easy to implement. To have a bit more control on what gets forwarded.

That should be pretty easy to do. We already have some options to use different tags or post in different communities, so like a "nohive" or "nopost" tag could be added. Thanks for the suggestion.

Having an extra photo is a nice addition. I shall have to include more in Strava. Keep up the good work.
