I saw this statue during my walk yesterday.
I had completely forgotten about it, otherwise you can rest assured that I would have already taken a photo of it to show you.
It depicts a man with an amputated arm and leg as he falls down and sets free a dove (I reckon it's a dove) with his healthy arm.
Perhaps the sculptor's message is that freedom is earned through the sacrifice of human lives.
I could only add that the sacrifice of human lives is worth it when the resulting freedom of some people is not considered superior to the freedom of others.
In other words, the struggle for freedom and peace should not end with some people becoming freer than others...
