A trip to the International Sports Fair in Havana, Cuba

Cuba is one of the nations with the best results in the field of sports and its achievements in the Olympic Games, world championships and regional games ratify it. Sports such as boxing, baseball, athletics, wrestling, volleyball, judo, among others, have Cuban athletes as outstanding athletes. Cuba is home to some of the best athletes in history, who are loved and respected throughout the world.

It is difficult for sports lovers not to know figures such as Mijaín López, Mireya Luis, Driulis González, Teófilo Stevenson, Iván Pedroso, Javier Sotomayor or Alberto Juantorena. Likewise, in many countries our baseball players are admired and loved for the love and passion with which they give their all on every baseball field.

One of my favorite passions is to enjoy sports and everything that has to do with this physical activity. However, an International Sports Fair had never been held in our country before.

Due to the new demands of the international market and the development of sports marketing, it was decided to hold the first exhibition of our sport as sports products, to which many companies in the world that have to do with this activity were invited.

Countries from several nations participated in the event and Mexico was the country with the largest attendance among the more than 100 entities from 13 countries, including Cuba.

The fair was limited to invited people, but, thanks to the management I was able to get an invitation and I was able to attend this important activity, in which the main figures of the sport in the country were present.

The chosen place was the Coliseum of the Havana Sports City, which is one of the main places of Cuban sports and headquarters of the Cuban Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER), which is the body in charge of governing the destinies of sports in the country.

When I arrived at the sports city, different activities were already taking place and among them I participated in those dedicated to Javier Sotomayor Sanabria, Olympic and world champion who also holds the world record in high jump. They were also congratulating the Olympic champion Dayron Robles in 110 meters hurdles.

I was able to enjoy this and much more at the fair, such as touring the different exhibition stands, participating in talks, meeting sports glories and learning first-hand what our country and the other invited nations are doing in the field of sports.
Among the sports companies were those of the sports industry and sports medicine that do so much for the country's sports development.

I could not believe I was in a place among so many protagonists who made me laugh and cry with joy and who gave so much glory to this country. I spent many pleasant moments in this event, but the most exciting and the one I keep as one of the most important of my life was when I was able to take a picture with Javier Sotomayor, who is considered the best high jumper in history.

It was a wonderful evening and I wanted to share it with those who read me, from the love and passion I feel for the sport.
