Excursion to the beach

I just finished a 15.82km cycling that lasted about 3hh:19mm:0ss !


We were still stretching from our sleep in bed when my wife has proposed me to take the bikes and approach the beach this morning.
My daughter is spending the weekend at a friend's house, so we thought that taking a trip together with my little son would be a good idea.
We have had breakfast and we have gone out into the street and, surprise, surprise, we were not the only ones taking the road to the beach since the day was fantastic.

We have followed the bicycle caravan for at least 7 kms and, upon reaching the beach area, we have dispersed along the shore.

It was packed with people.

Next, after enjoying the sun and the sea breeze, we have headed to a beach bar.
We have tasted the odd marine delicatessen, we have drunk our soft drinks, beer in my case and we have contemplated the beautiful landscape.

My son has proposed to take a bath in the water but when we have returned to the shore, again the weather has changed and black clouds have appeared from behind the mountains of Barcelona...

Time to go home to avoid the storm, lest we take a spring shower instead of a bath in the sea water.

All in all, a good journey with the family and also good in terms of activity, however, without time for running today.

I was also feeling the storm in my back when returning from the morning ride. But it seems its only clouds lately, no water :)

I wonder how effective cycling is as opposed to running. Could probably look it up myself, but too lazy for independent research.

Not the same effort neither the same performance in terms of strength and aerobical enhancement but cycling is a good complement.
