My Actifit Report Card: March 13 2023
It looks like Spring has finally begun to push out Old Man Winter and we're finally starting to see milder days.
Lulu was thrilled to see a young javelina on our morning walk and wanted to give it a chase but had to settle for watching it head into the woods and continue on exploring the damp landscape.
A nice quick 2 miles under the sunny skies to start our day.
Of course the mild days after all our winter snow and rain meant that my afternoon walk along the Centennial Trail was a messy affair. Plenty of mucky mud and seeping water to make the trail a soggy affair where I had to watch out and not go slipping and sliding down.
Still it was a great 5 miles up and down the narrow trail all by myself, except for the abundance of birds, enjoying my exercise out in nature. Just can't wait for the land to dry out a bit and finally get a reliable car so that we can get back to enjoying the backcountry again..
An additional treat when you hike on the Centennial Trail is a group of petroglyph carvings at the upper trailhead. Interesting to think of the ancient people that lived here so long ago.
