RE: Self Defense Situation - What Do You Do? - Part 35: Stop Bike Thieves and Defend Yourself

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

The tactic shown may not be appropriate if the attacker, instead of simply holding the girls long hair in his hand, he has it twisted around his hand. In that situation using the tactic shown, the girl will be dragged along with him as he falls. I am wondering what would be the appropriate tactic if that happens?

If the attacker grabs the girl's hair tight and has it twisted, simply doing the technique that shows in the video will not work. In this situation, you can do a couple of things.

  • Your first reaction should be stopping the attacker from controlling your body. Grab the attacker's hand that he uses to grab your hair. From there, you can strike him instantly. You can strike to his face, do hammer fist. If he is close enough and he cannot make your lower head, you can do knee charge.

  • You can grab his hand, turn and apply pressure to his wrist. This is going to be painful.

  • You can grab his hand and turn the attacker's elbow with your other hand. If you do that, he has to let you go.

Hope this answers your question. Thank you so much @devann for your question. :)

Let's see if I find a video on YouTube that shows some similar things that I'm talking about. Maybe I will make a post about it.
