I expect it's a sport where you can spend as much as you like on gear. I've worked with some golfers and one would always have the flashest gear whilst another seemed to get by with whatever he'd had for years. Not sure what difference it made when they played. I've never really been tempted to play, but my missus considered it a while back after trying it on holiday. She never did though. She's got a horse now and they cost even more.

You do see these old guys using their grandfather's hickory sticks sometimes. They can;t half play too, but there's something psychological about having half decent gear to use.

The 2-iron is getting on 40 years old now but I use it simply due to the satisfaction I get when it connects. You really need to be a golfer to understand that.
