RE: My love of football and how it formed in the 1980s ⚽️

It is always cool to see how other football fans developed their liking for this sport. I wonder what is your opinion about the Superleague, it seemed that the majority of British fans were against this new tournament but the fact is, without a Superleague, British football will end up being completely dominated by Manchester City for years to come, they have already been dominating the past few years. No normal clubs will be able to compete against state clubs if things don't change. So as a football fan, what are your thoughts about the Superleague?

There are always dominant teams and players in sport down through the years. Boris Becker, Michael Schumacher, Tiger Woods, Chicago Bulls, Manchester United, Barcelona, Brazil football team, Stephen Hendry and Kilkenny hurlers all come to mind. They all have something in common - they doninated their sport and their dominance came to an end eventually. During their dominant spell, it was hard to imagine it ending, but end it did. The same will happen with Man City eventually as well I believe.

To help in the football side of things though, there should be wage caps, transfer caps and transfer max budgets in order to stop a small group of clubs creating an unfair environment that stiffles competition.

The Super League would have been disastrous for English football and football in general. It is/was motivated by greed, plain and simple. The greedy clubs involved already leech millions from their fans, and this was seen as the last straw. Something like this would push me away from football towards rugby and my Irish home sports Gaelic football and hurling more.

The fans were right to revolt against this unveiled greed from the few, who would stand idly by and watch the many small clubs around the UK and Europe collapse and go bankrupt.

The dream for any small English club is to rise through the leagues and eventually end up in the promised land of the Premier League. Why do the few rich clubs think they are allowed steal the dreams of the little ones?
