Lichess Liga Team Battle - A 6th place kept us in liga 4! Next round this Thursday!

Dear chessfans!

Last Sunday our blockchain chess team played for the first time ever in liga 4 and was able to achieve a solid 6th place! Well done!
10 teams were fighting against each other with in total 144 players of an average rating of 2007.

The topscorers from our team were @poseout87 (ManFromSpain) followed by @jaki01 and @samostically!

The rules:

  • Everybody in our Lichess team can join using the link to the tournament (pick the blockchain chess team if asked 😃, in case you are part of multiple teams) and if you are not in our team yet, you can join anytime!
  • Every Thursday and Sunday are tournaments that last 1h40min (but you don´t need to stay for the full time)
  • The results of the 8 best contributors of each team (i.e. the "scorers") are counted in this liga
  • Bonus: Every participant in the Team Liga (min. 5 games played) will get a one-time bonus of 3 points in the upcoming Hivechess season 21, all scorers 5 and topscorers will get even 10 points!
  • Payout: Each week all scorers will get 1 or 2 Hive (depending if scored once or twice that week) directly sent in their wallet!


    The more join the better we will be. Can we dream of making it to Liga 3??

Is it worth it for the team to increase the numerical balance, even though I don't contribute with my game (if the fact that I know how to move the pieces can be called a game)?

Not to endanger the team's score with my game, because everyone beats me 😒

If you want to participate you should, regardless of numerical values! That´s the team spirit! And over time you will get better.
But of course, if you constantly have too strong opponents, it might get frustrating, so up to if you would like to join, noboby is forced to play. It should be fun, not duty!
E.g. on lichess there are daily tournaments with e.g. max. 1300 or max 1500 rated players. Probably you want to check them out as well, could be that it is more fun to play there...

I don't find it frustrating that I keep losing to better players, they are better, they know how to play.
I'm just asking, that with those lost games, I'm not endangering the position of the team?

3+2 can be very tough. Some games I lost, I was better. My conversion rate is poor.

5+0 up next means 100% beserk for me. I think we would get promotion or at least remain in liga4. Good tournament and looking forward to the next!
