@dannewton just finished a 4.57km run, that lasted for 28 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 376.0 calories.

Description from Strava: Since my really, really long walk on Sunday, I've been for 3 little runs... not bad considering its only Tuesday!

The reason for this was mentioned in a previous post: Midweek running - 10km (testing a double session), but to quickly explain it here... I'm changing job roles in 2 days time, and as part of the change I hope to be able to run to work and back a couple of days a week. The distance each way is only 6km, so I've been trying lots of shorter runs to help me get used to it.

If you thought that 1x 10km run is the same as 2x 5km runs in one day feels the same, then I can assure you it doesn't!

Anyways, onto the runs themselves

Monday I was in the office, and so I only had time to do the one session after work in the evening. The bus was a little late getting home, so it wasn't until nearly half 6 before I could get outside. Its been warm (bordering on hot) all day, and even after 6:30pm, it was uncomfortably warm out there.

23C is nice to sit in the sun, but its uncomfortable when I'm actually working in it!

The route was a simple loop around the village for just over 5km.

Afterwards, I spent 20 ish minutes working through some exercises and stretches, before heading for a shower to cool down.

For Tuesday (today) I was working from home, and had aimed to get outside and run first thing before starting work... and as usual that didn't happen!

Instead I did have an hour lunch break to take, so I decided to do 30 mins here instead

The sunshine from yesterday continued today, and if anything, it felt even warmer. I chose a route along the bypass for the lunchtime run, and although it felt hot heading up it... when I turned round to run back I had a noticeable headwind, which helped to cool me down a little

Only a little, its still too warm!

Once home, I had just about enough time to make a sandwich for lunch, before carrying on with my work. I needed to keep working until 5pm today, but after that I was able to head out and get my second run of the day done.

This felt harder than the earlier run, because I've already started to stiffen up a little, and then had to go back out again. To be fair part of that might still be the aftereffects of the 10 mile walk on Sunday, I've been much more active recently than usual.

And so with slightly tired and heavy legs, I chose to cut short the loop around the village to just 4km and not 5km

Tomorrow is definitely gonna be a rest day, and I'll be in the office all day anyway. Its my last 'shift' in my current job role, before my new one starts on Thursday and I'm really looking forward to a new place/office/team. I'm gonna stick to getting the bus on Thursday and Friday this week, just so I can get my bearings, and then hopefully next week I will be able to at least run home from work
