Casual 15km

I just finished a 15.192km running that lasted about 1hh:31mm:54ss !

TL:DR - Strong winds forecast for tomorrow, so chose to do final run of the week today. Was meant to be just 10k, but felt good enough to add 5k on the end of it

I had planned to do a relaxing 10km run tomorrow (Saturday) to end the week. Checking the forecast I found that that not only was it due to be colder (due to windchill) but it was also forecast to be significantly windier than usual. One of my previous runs was also in strong winds, and it was an awful experience... I'd rather run in rain and snow and ice than do another blustery run.

Therefore I elected to go for a run this afternoon instead. The ice is slowly clearing but there is still patches which could cause an injury. I stuck to running the lap around the village just because it was easier. The village lap is just over 5km and I set out to do 2 laps: 10km, nice and easy.

Regarding pace, I started a bit keen and after the first few kilometres I slowed it down a bit to suit the longer distance. At the end of the second 'lap' I felt comfortable and 'in the groove' as such, so I made a split-second decision to do a third lap resulting in a total of 15km run today.

That takes me up to a total of 40km for the week, and once again its another increase to the weekly distance. I'll take the weekend off, and then on Monday morning I will go out for another long run.
