Afternoon Run

I just finished a 7.038km running that lasted about 0hh:32mm:22ss !

Well, my goal to increase my mileage failed again. This week end, I preferred walking and hiking with some friends and the dogs in some of the local parks. But Monday afternoon, I had a one hour window with nothing much going on, and I had two choices: starting on some yard work, or go for a run. Of course, the decision was quick and I went running. For once, since it was in the afternoon, I decided to follow one of my old easy routes. Base route is around 4 miles with plenty of possible extra loops for added distance.

But I actually didn't add much distance. I felt very heavy, partly due to my very late breakfast, and with tired legs possibly because of the slightly higher-than-usual drinking over the week end (yes, like I already said, hiking often comes with food and drinks afterwards). So, in the end, it's about 7 km at a medium pace. 7:24 min/mile is actually better than what it felt like while running. Compared to my usual runs around dusk or even later, there wasn't any wildlife I could see, they were probably hiding in the woods until the traffic slows down.

I really need to get back into some sort of running routine. Hopefully the nice weather in the forecast this week will help. Till then, keep Exhausting!
