Virtual Run Pacing

I just finished a 21.011km running that lasted about 1hh:40mm:49ss !

Thursday we were given the news that @run.kirsty.run "A" race for the season would be cancelled due to COVID 19 lock down. We hoped it would still go ahead but at pretty late notice we were given the news that the only option Kirsty had would be a virtual run.

We decided to still take on a similar course down by the Auckland bays and I was tasked with pacing and carrying water for the run. Kirsty picked and perfect morning, but the wind did come up later in the run. She's been working hard on her half marathon times and took a good 3 minutes off her personal best, so it was a great result even though she had to race the event virtually.

Really thought we were almost at the end of these lock downs and cancellations, but it seems we still have a while to go. There are a lot of people out there who have thrown in the towel and really lost motivation to train and race. I think today is a good example that people can still get good results during 2020.

Stay Strong Everyone!
