This run helped steevc burn 368.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
It was a little overcast this morning, but not raining. I knew the course at Henlow Bridge Lakes would be muddy again, so I wore my trail shoes. On the way there I saw a guy drop something that I assumed was litter, but when I got closer I saw it was £5, so I told him.

There were a fair few people at the start as some will run whatever the conditions. I think the lowest attendance I have seen was about 40 when it was really horrible weather. That time I finished in the top ten.

I set off at a decent pace and managed to keep it fairly consistent. It actually brightened up a bit and that helped my mood. I was having to concentrate on not slipping over in places. Other parts of the course are not too bad. The puddles are mostly avoidable and so my legs were not too dirty. I got a comment from one of the marshals about that at the end.

On the last lap I overtook someone, but others came past me. I was just a few seconds quicker than last week, but I am happy with the time given the conditions. I saw someone from work at the finish with his family.

As usual I went for coffee with some of the regulars before I jogged home.

I will be doing my monthly survey of who is using Hive in the UK. I have some Python scripts to produce that. I was with some of them in London this week and we were saying we need to build up the community. I think people do want an alternative to the corporate social platforms, but they may not realise what is available. I am always happy to talk about it and I can create free accounts for people.

Run free and go to parkrun!

Looks like you had a fantastic run despite the conditions. It is good to see attendance remains high, I follow my local 2 Parkruns on Instagram and they are always posting post Parkrun stats, It seems they always clear 300+ whatever the weather and sometimes they have an excess amount of volunteers so some will opt to run as pacemakers.

A great coffee is a perfect post run drink :)

We've had over 200 this year, but people may go elsewhere when it's muddy. There are a few within a half hour drive and I've not done all those. I think we will only do pacers in the warmer months when there are more runners. We can always do with more volunteers and I will do that again soon.

There is a 'bean to cup' machine in the campsite shop that is not bad. We just have to sit outside. It was okay for that today.

It is cool to see such a great turnout at parkrun, even when the weather isn't perfect outside.
