steevc just finished a 5.65km run, that lasted for 32 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 391.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
The mixed weather continues, but it was a sunny day. A lot of people went for the Christmas meal in the canteen, but I had running to do. I do not eat turkey anyway. Actually we tried a potential festive meal tonight that could be mistaken for meat with stuffing. Just because we do not eat meat does not mean we cannot have things that are like it.

The run was my usual loop with the long climb up to the lakes. I did actually manage a personal best on part of that, but not for the full climb. I was not too far for that.

The geese were out in force at the lake, but they ignored me as I jogged past. I had to get back for a meeting, so I took a slightly shorter route this time down various side roads and did not use the outdoor gym.

Coming back is mostly downhill, but still has a few climbs with one right at the end. Strava says it was 49m of climbing.

Although it was fairly cool I was sweating well, but had to get on with my shower. I rarely see anyone else in the changing rooms, but there was a bag there. I made it just in time for my meeting.

Run free!

I'm not really doing this to get fans, but I hope to inspire people to stay active. Enjoy your day too.

How was the heat situation? Because it can be very difficult running when the heat is almost unbearable

It was about 5C, so heat is not really an issue even if I still get warm.

Nice job on your run. My inlaws used to live in a house near a couple of ponds and the geese were always horrible. They just leave such a mess all over the place. I can understand why you would want to avoid running near where they were.

They do leave a lot of mess and they can be aggressive. Lots of bird life around there. I've seen cormorants too.

Cormorants are pretty cool. I got to see a bunch of them on a boat tour I took this past summer.

They seem to have spread inland. I bet the anglers don't like them.

It was freezing cold but sunny today here. That's my kind of place to hang out you have there in the photo :)

There's a lot of green space around Stevenage. A good place for running or cycling. The local parkrun is around the lake.

When you say that you don't eat meat, do you mean this in general, i.e. that you're a vegetarian? !CTP

I gave up meat decades ago, but I do eat fish now and then as well as eggs and dairy. Technically I'm a pescatarian, but I set my own rules. I am not too obsessive about getting the perfect diet, but I do okay anyway.

Being "not obsessive" is very important. I feel like a lot of veganists and vegetarians are very obsessive and extreem. And that makes me a bit "extreme" against this way of living sometimes... Maybe also not the rightreaction though... !LUV

Some of the carnivores are obsessive too. I just don't get the attitude of being against something that is good for the world just because of the attitude of some campaigners. The extremists are always a minority. We just need to get people to consider changing their habits.

lol Envy the weather you got to run in…Right now here it's -22 C and snow everywhere. When it does warm up to around freezing, I tend to go on some hikes but…Dang, what I would do for some sunny warm weather in December!

I don't envy yours. We don't get real extremes of weather here, but still manage to complain about it. I bet this snow will be gone in a few days. I'm just not risking slipping on the ice when I try to run.
