Morning Run: Spring to life

steevc just finished a 7.12km run, that lasted for 43 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 523.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
It is a lovely morning with the run shining in blue skies. It still takes a while to warm up, but it feels more like spring than when it is raining. Everything is so green right now. We are letting our grass grow in 'No Mow May', so lots of different 'weeds' are coming through.

This was just a gentle run up to Fairfield to start my day before working from home. Not having to get the train to the office gives me time to run. It was fairly quiet out there with just one or two other runners plus dog walkers and kids going to school.

My route includes a couple of little obstacles that I can hurdle. Nothing too exciting, but it makes sure I am paying attention so I do not trip. Last night I watched the Nick Bloomfield documentary about Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones. He really did live fast and die young.

I listened to the Gareth and Billcast which is the two guys from the former BBC Digital Planet show continuing to talk about technology. I got a little mention this time as I joined in the discussion on their FB group.

I generally just have some water before I run and then eat when I get back. I always have breakfast. It was granola with some fruit and oat milk plus orange juice. I have my coffee after I have showered and got ready to work.

Have a great day and run free.

Oat milk? I started drinking it for animal welfare reasons, but had to have some left over milk the other day.. It tastes gross now after not having it for such a long time! I am not going back for sure! haha
Nice weather for a change! Enjoy your garden!

I rarely drink dairy milk, but I do like a bit of cheese. I would struggle to go full vegan.

The garden is looking a little wild, but I do not see that as a problem.

Yes, cheese is still not perfect, but some of the stuff for bakes is pretty good now.
My latest discovery is the Cathedral one, it's pretty nice for pizzas and such like..

I need to cut my grass for sure.. like, BIG time.. lol
Only a small garden though, so shouldn't take long..

We have some veggie 'butter' that seems okay. 30 years ago there were very few alternative options out there, but the veggie/vegan shelves in the supermarket keep growing.

Yay, I never really used to use butter, but I do now.. yes, there are really good brands out there.. thankfully!

I've never tasted a granola
Can you explain what the taste is like?

Granola is a mix of oats, nuts and dried fruit with some honey. There are various types. I sometimes add some fresh fruit. What do you have for breakfast?

I mostly have pap for breakfast
We grind corn in a liquid way and store it at the house. Whenever we are hungry, we make pap

Well I've never had that :) I could make my own granola, but it's easier to just buy it.

That good, you take daily healthy dose for your health and body fitness. I also tried to daily slowly walk like thousands steps.

Walking is good too. Staying active is good for you. I sit all day at work, so I need to exercise.

Nice job on your run! We have been getting some nice weather here too. I went out yesterday evening and played a disc golf round of 18. It was a lot of fun. I wish you had a course closer to you, I could see you really enjoying it. I got plenty of steps in last night. I think we are going to play again Thursday.

That's cool. I'm in favour of anything that gets people outside.

I am taking muesli since a long and I think it is the other name for granola when I compare its elements. Correct me if I am wrong.

They are a bit different, as Wikipedia says. Well you did ask me to correct you and you can do the same searches as me ;)

I used to not drink milk that much but now since I started running I drink it daily it has many benefits.

Have a nice day and run free

I love this! It just made me smile big smiles! Been struggling to fit the running in here as it's winter and can't always do the treadmill due to power cuts here in South Africa. But I'm doing the things at least 3 times a week!

Keep inspiring us to keep going! Love your energy!

Running all year can be hard, but you need to stay motivated. That's really tough when the power is out.

You have some catching up to do on the 2023km challenge :)
