Sunday long run
I just finished a 13.715km running that lasted about 1hh:19mm:20ss !
I am getting back into my regular running routine this week. I like to do a longer run on a Sunday. It was a little overcast, but still fairly warm. We risked a dip in the pool last night, but it was a bit cooler than I like.
I started off on my regular loop up to and around Fairfield with the thought of extending depending on how I felt. It was going okay, so I headed off towards Letchworth. The hill up to The Grange just feels less intimidating than it used to. From there I kept going out to Norton and then back through Radwell Meadows. I like to stay away from the roads as much as possible, but there is not too much traffic out on a Sunday morning.
Coming back through Stotfold and avoiding some roadworks on the cycle path I decided to cut through Etonbury Wood. There were a few people out walking there. I wanted to cut across the bypass and come in behind our house. I clambered over a farm gate and crossed the busy road. It was a bit further to the footpath than I thought, so I was running along the edge of this road for a while. Eventually I found the path and then it was a track between fields to the top of our road. Lots of wild flowers on the verges there and just a lady out with her dog.
I beat a couple of Strava segment personal records without really intending to.
I was sweating well when I got in. Not sure why it is not until then that it runs into my eyes and stings, but at least I can wash it off then. Breakfast was the usual cereal and fruit.
Podcasts were Digital Planet, Dead Ringers, No Such Thing As A Fish and Ubuntu Podcast. I have actually seen three of those live. Not too much wildlife apart from a black squirrel today.
I am now recovering with some fresh coffee.
Run free and stay well.

Great job! We are dog sitting again this weekend, so our walks have been a bit shorter and slower. The old guy just can't keep up the pace! We told his owner that he probably feels like he got sent off to fat camp!
