Morning Run - Fast, faster, fastest

I just finished a 7.171km running that lasted about 0hh:40mm:37ss !

I needed to be up earlyish as we had a slot booked at the dump to get rid of a load of garden rubbish. They are restricting the number of cars each day to comply with distancing rules. I have my alarm set for 7:30, but have been waking up before then. I was out before 8 today to do some 30-20-10 intervals.

I did what has become my regular loop now whilst the roadworks are in on the way to Stotfold. There was a lady out running with a dog attached to her belt. Apparently running with dogs is a sport in itself these days. Not sure it would work with our cat.

Otherwise it was fairly quiet out there. I had to do a few of the sprints on the rough tracks by the fields. This keeps you alert for holes and bumps.

Podcast listening was Infinite Monkey Cage and Desert Island Discs with Annie Nightingale who was the first female DJ on Radio 1 and the only one for twelve years. Fifty years on she is still there.

Weather was overcast and not too warm, which made it easier. I felt fairly good on this run after Sunday's plod. Will aim for another workout on Thursday, 'not parkrun' on Saturday and a long run on Sunday.

Run free and stay well.

You have uploaded 166 running activities, and 59 of them have been of similar distances (within 10 percent)!
Here are your 5-fastest running activities of a similar distance:

Over these 59 similar activities, you have travelled approximately 418.44 kms at an average pace of roughly 5:51 min/km!
Your latest run was at a pace of approximately 5.664min/km!
Looks like you went a bit faster than usual this time! Nice work!
Have a !BEER for your troubles!

You need to stake more BEER (24 staked BEER allows you to call BEER one time per day)

An associate of mine used to take part in cross country runs with her dog strapped to her. I seem to recall it being called Canicross. Lola would be useless at it (as would I) - she likes to stop and sniff things every few meters.

Needs a dog who loves running. I have run with my sister's Labrador, but she was not attached to me. She needs taking out anyway.

Seems Canicross is big. I wonder how much of a speed boost you can get from a dog.

I tried to do a bit of running with our dog. It was very confusing for her. She wanted to go much faster than I was able and when I had to stop she was very unsure of what was going on. I think she would have run a couple miles if I would have let her! If I could keep up that is!

I guess you need the right kind of dog and train them up. A fun way to exercise with your pet. It is amazing how strong dogs can be.
