Morning Run - Enduring it

I just finished a 13.009km running that lasted about 1hh:15mm:35ss !

After yesterday's sprint I was planning to take it steady today. Again I managed to avoid the rain and did not go through the underpass that is usually flooded. As is often the case I headed up to Fairfield park, but did not run right around it this time. I was avoiding places that might be muddy and slippery.

I took the track across to The Grange and did quite well up the big hill with a second best time on one of the segments there. Not so long ago I was struggling to run all the way up. At the top I seemed to startle some crows who made quite a lot of noise. I could barely hear my podcast as I passed them. I almost caught up with another guy around there, but he turned down a different path.

I kept going out to Norton and followed the road downhill to the Greenway on Radwell Meadows. I seemed to speed up a little on the second half, but that is often the case. Strava rated my pace as a combination of endurance and tempo, compared with threshold and above that I was doing yesterday.

This cooler weather has made running a little more comfortable, but I still got warm. As I came out the other side of Stotfold I saw that the roadworks there are finally finished. There is a big new junction for access to the new football club and lower school. That means I have a clear run to do my other 5km time trial along the cyclepath to Stotfold, so I will try that again soon.

The run ended up a little longer than I expected, but my legs were good to the end. I keep wondering about trying some sort of run every day for a week at least. I could try it and see if I can sustain it.

Run free and stay well.

You have uploaded 179 running activities, and 14 of them have been of similar distances (within 10 percent)!
Here are your 5-fastest running activities of a similar distance:

Over these 14 similar activities, you have travelled approximately 179.37 kms at an average pace of roughly 5:48 min/km!
Your latest run was at a pace of approximately 5.81min/km!
Looks like you went a bit slower this time! Remember that it's important to take some rest days, and do some rehab / prehab / strength and conditioning training too! If you weren't intending to go slower, take a moment to listen to your body, and see if you need something. Check in with yourself!

Shorter than usual, not a bad idea to NOT do a half marathon.

Daily runs, try it! Didn't Ron Hill do a daily run every day for about 50 years?

I think he hit the news when he eventually missed one!

A half every week feels like too much as it affects what I can do for the rest of the week. I read a while back that there is a whole culture of people who run every day with some keeping it up for years. Whilst I am not having to go to work I may as well try these things.

What advice would you give to someone like this that hates running but wants to try It out? I am on a weight loss journey and people always talk about how running is amazing but as I said before I hate running!!!!! I tried the running and then walking but I got tired

Nice job! My wife and I were finally able to get out and do some exercise this weekend. I actually logged in 16k steps yesterday, so I was pretty happy with that!

That's good. I have been lucky to avoid the rain. Places were flooding around here yesterday afternoon. I had to bail some water to stop it getting in next door. That was extra exercise.

No real damage here, but others may have suffered more. We don't get rain like that too often.
