Morning Run - Pheasant pluckers

I just finished a 7.936km running that lasted about 0hh:46mm:19ss !

Getting up was a bit of a struggle and my legs are still not fully recovered from the weekend, but I wanted to get a run in. It was off over the railway again to avoid the school crowds. There were three ladies swimming in the river again. I wonder if they go every day.

The programme for today was 6x800m with 200m recovery doing laps around the farm tracks. This went fairly well with most being under 5min/km. On one of my laps I saw a whole load of pheasants that looked quite young. I was reading that thousands get released in some areas just so people can shoot them. I wonder if that goes on around here, but I have not seen anyone out shooting recently. Any shooting may just be for pest control rather than 'sport'.

My heart rate seemed to stay pretty high during this outing. I can see on some of the Strava charts that it did drop a bit in the recovery phases. I know @dickturpin is concerned for my health, but I feel my heart is stronger since I started running. My resting pulse is fairly good.

It was very quiet out there today. Just the swimmers, one dog walker and a few people coming over the bridge as I headed home. A lot of people will be back at work now. I do miss the office, but hope to be back soon. Being able to run in the mornings like this is one advantage of being stuck at home.

Run free and stay well.

You have uploaded 195 running activities, and 43 of them have been of similar distances (within 10 percent)!
Here are your 5-fastest running activities of a similar distance:

Over these 43 similar activities, you have travelled approximately 328.85 kms at an average pace of roughly 5:49 min/km!
Your latest run was at a pace of approximately 5.836min/km!
Looks like you went a bit slower this time! Remember that it's important to take some rest days, and do some rehab / prehab / strength and conditioning training too! If you weren't intending to go slower, take a moment to listen to your body, and see if you need something. Check in with yourself!

I hope this is giving me more sustainable speed. My triathlete friend recommended this workout.

Excellent! Did he prepare you a running plan?

Not as such. He invites me to run with him sometimes and this was one of the routines. I should maybe talk to him about sorting out a proper plan. I do think about joining a club to get better coaching, but that eats more time and it's not like I am seriously competing.

I am starting to think that my legs are never going to recover from all of this exercise. I feel like I ache every where all the time. Getting old just sucks in general! Nice job on your run!

Maybe I have peaked on recovery. Not so long ago I would be limping around the day after a 10km run, but now it's just slightly sort legs. I may try the thing of running every day for a week again, but I think they have to be shorter runs.

My biggest issue is my Achilles. They just ache all the time. Sensitive to the touch most of the time too like they are constantly inflamed.

That sounds annoying. Things that stop you exercising just make it worse.
