Morning Run - Sun, mud, puddles

I just finished a 5.996km running that lasted about 0hh:35mm:0ss !

I would describe this morning as 'crisp' given it was sunny, but a cool 6C. Despite the lower temperature it looked like the swimming ladies had been in the river as I passed them on my way out as they headed home. Thanks to all the recent rain it was quite muddy in patches. I went to my usual 'racetrack' that is a loop of about a mile along farm tracks. These consist of compacted parts for the tractor wheels and grass up the middle. I was in my trail shoes, but tried to dodge a lot of the puddles to avoid wet feet.

I was doing my 30-20-10 workout that is a matter of increasing pace for decreasing time period. There are three lots of doing this five times with two minute recovery periods. I think it is good for getting the legs moving fast and the heart has to keep adapting to the varying load.

It went pretty well with just my podcasts and some birdsong for company. There was nobody else up there today. I had been having some issues with podcast playback recently, but I put a bigger memory card in the phone and it seems okay so far.

I would normally have run yesterday, but the weather was horrible in the morning. I am thinking I will try for my monthly half marathon on Sunday and it does not look too bad then.

Have a great weekend. Run free and stay well.

Great job. That sucks that you missed yesterday. I guess that happens sometimes and it is good for our bodies to have a break. I did my weight training indoors. I took it a bit easy today with just a one mile walk.

I'm happy enough if I get out 3 times in a week, so it is no big deal to move one run. Have to work around the weather. I do some exercises at home on other days.
