Morning Run - Leftover turkey trot

I just finished a 5.559km running that lasted about 0hh:31mm:15ss !

Okay so we do not each turkey in our house. We had a veggie substitute. This continues my seasonal streak that started on Christmas Eve. The runs have been getting shorter, but I am happy if I manage to get out. It was distinctly warmer today, so shorts and t-shirt were enough.

I started off on my standard loop of Church End, but decided to visit the station to climb the bridge. There are no trains today, so it was quiet there. Just a few people in the meadow on the other side out for a walk. I diverted around the industrial estate before heading home. This time I took the back track at the end of The Rally that was muddy in parts. There is a bit of a climb on that path.

I did what has become a regular route around the new estate and finished off with a lap of my block to get it over 5km.

My legs were not too bad considering this is my third consecutive day of running, but I was not looking to get particularly quickly. I am interested to see how many days I can sustain this streak. I am not working until the new year, so I have plenty of time.

I hope everyone had a good Christmas and you got what you wanted. I got some coffee-related gifts that I will post about soon.

Run free and stay well in 2021.

I'm struggling with my motivation for running still but have been for some nice walks with the dog. They may not improve my fitness as much but I gather I'll still burn the same calories over the same distance as if I were running (jogging ... almost).

Getting out at all is good. I've have Christmases where I have hardly been out for a few days. Trying to make this a habit. There is a lot of food, so have to do something.

Awesome job on your run! My wife and I got up and worked out the mornings of Christmas Even and Christmas Day, but this weekend we are probably going to take the opportunity to be pretty lazy. Especially since the snow has finally started to fly!

We have 'Storm Bella' passing through tonight. Going to be windy, so I'll see how it looks in the morning. No snow, but flooding in some places near here. Not great for Xmas.

*When someone tells you that what you want to do is impossible, change the word in your head to hard. What you want to do is hard. Hard is doable – it just requires dedicated work and effort and you can make it happen.
