Morning Run - Xmas streak, day 5

I just finished a 5.029km running that lasted about 0hh:28mm:35ss !

It was another cold one this morning with a heavy frost. Out I went anyway. I was a bit wary as the pavements were slippery in places and I did feel my shoes (On Cloudflow) slipping a little at times. I just went for 5km today and it felt like hard work. I think it is harder when it is really cold, but I was still sweating at the end.

It was fairly quiet out there. A lot of people will still be off work and COVID restrictions mean there are less reasons to go out.

I did just about 35km last week. In the Strava Hive Running Club that is only good enough for fifth place. I hope to see more runners join us next year.

This streak is not about beating anyone else. It is just a personal challenge, but I may still see how others are doing. I will never be the quickest.

Run free and stay well.

Sounds about the same as here. The roads were solid ice on my drive in to work this morning. The expressway was even covered. I had to keep my speed to 55 when normally I go about 78. Hopefully they have it all cleared up by the time I head home!

I don't think the roads were too bad, but still worth being careful out there. I don't need to drive anywhere today. The gritting trucks may have been out. Looks like it will stay around freezing all week.

I think we are actually supposed to get some substantial snow this week for the first time this season.

Hope it doesn't mess up your plans too much. The frost has cleared here now.

*When someone tells you that what you want to do is impossible, change the word in your head to hard. What you want to do is hard. Hard is doable – it just requires dedicated work and effort and you can make it happen.

Enjoy a !BEER in the meantime...

Winter is the best time to start running. So much oxygen in the air one could go far longer and stronger.

Well it doesn't get that cold here. Today is another beach day.

I think there may be some optimal temperature range for me. Below freezing seems to slow me down and over 20C I get too hot. It's a long way to a beach from here :)
