Morning Run - Start the year right

I just finished a 5.434km running that lasted about 0hh:29mm:54ss !

A bit of fartlek on a chilly morning. I was awake at midnight to hear the fireworks, but only had one beer whilst watching some TV with my better half. I expect it was a quieter new year for many people.

When logging this on Strava I added a note about Hive. It would be great to see a lot more runners on there in 2021. @exhaust makes it simple to log runs that you record on Strava anyway. People could be earning a little extra that way and we could build more of a community. I may push harder to recruit people.

The run was fine. I decided to do a few sprints to get the legs moving and I want to work on my speed this year in hope of getting back to parkrun with some PBs. At the start of last year I was looking to clock up my 50th parkrun by now, but that was not to be.

I hope there will be other events this year, but it will be a while before restrictions on gatherings are relaxed. The UK has struggled for various reasons.

I hope 2021 is a better year for everyone, but keep running anyway. We can do it alone without depending on facilities being open. Get out and explore your local area.

Run free, stay well and have a great 2021.

Great way to start the new year. Endomondo has been terminated so I will maybe try Strava, do you recommend it? Otherwise will I just start using Runkeeper which my gf has, but I think it's missing some key features...
How do I get started in Exhaust?

I used Endomondo before, but Strava was more social. I am paying for it as I think it's a good service.

For @exhaust just go to the site and log in with Keychain. You can upload GPS logs or set it up to sync to Strava. It can probably work with Runkeeper if that let you export the runs. Then just create a post for each run. You can get help on Discord.

My wife and I skipped the workout this morning but we went grocery shopping instead. Sure the steps weren't really high impact, but the truth is our bodies needed a little break. We have both been pretty sore lately from all of the working out. My wife started doing this video routine by these Australian people and according to her it is pretty intense.

I have not been anywhere else today. Just doing stuff around the house. There are so many workouts to choose from these days. Doing something is better than nothing, so do what works for you.

We found this one where you do sets of walking, running, and weights. We might try that some time this new year.

Nice work @steevc and yeah, it would be great to have some more people with us on EXHAUST. It seems like things are stable and back to normal again with the platform, so hopefully there will be more people joining.

Hope so. Maybe we will see some development this year. I am sure people can think of improvements.
