Combining Intervals and Hills

avatar

I just finished a 9.416km running that lasted about 0hh:46mm:21ss !

Yesterday I wrote about the importance of have variations in your running plan so you can always bring your body to a higher level of fitness by breaking the routine and the intensity level.
Of course, always after an effort you have to rest properly in order to assimilate the "new exercise" or Training load and promote so the adaption of your body.

As you may know, I am a member of an athletic Running Club and there is very easy to enjoy from multiple type of workouts and exercises, however, all running and sport clubs are closed since the start of the lockdown and seems that the opening of which will still take time.

So, during these time, you have to be very "creative" in the planning of your run, taking everything you have around as an opportunity in order to elaborate a workout.

Today I combined two workouts in one, a run on hills and, at the same time, an easy fartlek of 2' Fast +2' Slow.

No matter if you are going uphill or downhill.

If you are within the 2' of fast intervals you have to go FAST...

As a result I did around 9.5 km with 150m high in 45', including 1.5km of warm-up and 1km of cool-down jog at the end so, as you can imagine the other 7km have been run very fast.

It's a pity that I don't have closer mountains...as you know, for the moment we are constrained to run inside the border of the city so, no way...

But I will come back!

Keep on running!

You have uploaded 143 running activities, and 44 of them have been of similar distances (within 10 percent)!
Here are your 5-fastest running activities of a similar distance:

Over these 44 similar activities, you have travelled approximately 415.38 kms at an average pace of roughly 5:07 min/km!
Your latest run was at a pace of approximately 4.922min/km!
Looks like you went a bit faster than usual this time! Nice work!
