My Actifit Report Card: September 15 2021

(Edited)

Hey everybody! How was your day?

Mine was busy! First day of work always finds us with a fully booked schedule, as does tomorrow and Friday. Tomorrow begins my coworker’s vacation. Our paths generally only cross on Wednesday, so I won’t feel the impact of her absence until Monday when I have to work the 5 days instead of my normal 3 and on next Wednesday when it’s the longer of the days for appointments. However, she needs some R&R, so I’m hoping she gets a chance to really relax. 😇

After work, I headed to the grocery for some cherry Ice and seltzer water to mix my Lotus energy drink with, and the post office.

Once home I made coffees and we headed out for a short evening hike. @silvertop told me of some “beets” ( aka purple onions-see @silvertop’s post ) that Lynne had up in the little stand she puts out for neighbors. I am actually in need of onions, so we hiked up to see if anyone had claimed the other two. On the way back, I noticed this spiderweb between some power and phone lines.

It is that time of year!🕷

A little closer to home, I spied my second Woolley worm for the season. I took this shot and discovered that he has eyes 👀!

There was nothing to cause any kind of reflection……very interesting! 🤔🧐

I’m looking forward to bedtime and getting some sleep. I’m still working on trying to catch up.

If you haven’t gone to @actifit-lamb’s post about her pumpkin patch adventure, click on her name and go have a look! She had a ton of fun!🎃🎃🎃

Take care everyone and have a blessed evening!👣🐑🍁🍂🎃😎👍🌻🤗😴

@elizabethbit The King believes you should have gathered up that "wooley worm". You probably discovered an evolutionary breath through?

Any luck in getting "beets"? Interesting name for an onion. Very interesting how we use the "English" language.

Hi @kingneptune! I'm going to have to check out my next Woolley Worm and see if he has eyes as well. I did move him out of the road as they get squished way too easily.

As for the beets......yes I got two more. I think perhaps I need to take my husband to the produce aisle of the local grocer, lol!

Thanks for stopping by! Take care and have an awesome Friday!

@elizabethbit Please keep us posted on the Woolley Worm findings.

Are the beets sweet? The King's royal chef purchased some yellow onions yesterday at the market. She cooked them up in an egg omelet this morning, they are sweet!

Did you happen to see the latest Gene Decode and Linda Sparks episode? Some really nasty ingredients inside the "anti-thing."

Fun Friday today! The Kingdom sends blessings in Love, Peace, and Prosperity!

The 'beets'(I presume you know they really are purple onions?) are being saved for when I make my next pot of scratch french onion soup! Very, very tasty! Purple onions work well for this as well as Vadallia onions, which are definitely sweet!

Sounds like the perfect compliment in your omlette!

Is Gene Decode a series? I've never heard of it.

Take care my friend!

@elizabethbit Yes, we did presume they where "purple onions" the King thanks thee for clarifying the language.

The french onion soup sounds delicious! Before the King rose to his lofty position on "the throne" double entendre intended! The King started out his life career as a cook and eventually worked his way to the National Maritime Union as a qualified 2nd cook. 3 steps away from qualified chef.

Gene Decode is a person...... You can find out more here.....

Thanks for the 'luv'!

My secret to super tasty french onion soup is to add just a little olive oil to it during the sautéing of the onions! It is awesome! Take care! Thanks for the information on Gene Decode.

Wooly worms with eyes! Who knew? I didn't! That is pretty fascinating, and, even more, because he looked a little possessed! Oh, vacation is good to give everyone the R&R but you can really feel it in a small office.

I hope your week goes smoothly. Did you ever get those onions? That is awesome that you have the energy to hike it out after work. Some days, I am too tired! :)

Have a great week!

Hey @dswigle! I agree with you; he did look a little possessed, lol!

As for work; the doc is only there this week Wednesday and Friday, so I have 3 days to catch up on the small fires that have been simmering on the back burner!

As for energy.......ever hear of sleep hiking?😁

Take care!

They are an annual thing here. The saying goes the longer the black areas (or bigger) the harsher the winter will be; more snow, etc. They also turn into an Isabella Tiger Moth, which is very pretty. Thanks for stopping by!

That's cool, and thanks for sharing the local saying. So let's see if we are going to get lots of snow. I expect a lot more where you are than where I am.

It's either a ton of snow or none. You just never know until it happens. We shall see! Take care and have an awesome weekend!

Great stepping @elizabethbit, and a short circuiting spider sounds like trouble, and even if I am not familiar with the Woolly worm I bet those eyes you saw are fake ones to trick predators, enjoy your day and stay awesome.

Thanks! You might just be right about the eyes; I have never seen that before and I see a lot of Woolley Worms every year. I move them out of harms way when I find them.

As for the spider, I can't stand them, lol! When we first moved to this area (we had previously lived in Colorado and there were virtually no spiders) the first time I saw all of them, I went out with a broom and literally swept the house! By the next morning, they were back. I just don't deal well with them.

Thanks for stopping by and take care!

A nice number of steps! I have not seen any wooly caterpillars yet. But I haven’t gotten out to more woody areas, just been walking around the neighborhood. Take care. !PIZZA !BEER !WINE

I have been seeing them at odd times for the past couple of years, but fall is traditionally when they really come out. I always pick them up and move them out of harms way. Thanks for stopping by and for the pizza!
