Happy rucking New Year! Back at it for the first ruck of the year.
It was a cold and blustery winter day, far up north. Ah, just kidding... it was chilly and had just finished snowing when I loaded up. It was actually a really great temp out.
I wanted to push myself a little bit as I've had to let the belt out one hole!
I loaded 23kg(50lbs) into the ruck and threw on the vest with 9kg(20lbs) of plates. I kept the pace relatively slow as it was a wee bit icy out. A few patches almost tossed me into the ditch. Would have looked like a turtle on its back. Anyhow, this ruck took me out just under 6.5k.
As I said a slow first ruck... and a bit heavier than usual. My typical pace is around 9:30/km. I'll be working on upping my pace with this weight.
Stay safe, stay healthy and keep active!
