I am alive challenge: My Actifit Report: June 24 2023 MY 7 YEARS OLD COUSIN GOT MISSING

The day started like any other day with nothing presumably changing. A beautiful normal Friday of laptop work and tutoring. The first half of the day was done leaving a few hours to make it a round day of successful work. It was 3:00 pm and my cousin was not home yet as he usually got home before 2:00 pm on a Friday as the next-door neighbors bring him home from school.

I was preparing to head out for tutoring when my sister called to say he was nowhere around the school. I wasn't scared nor did I have a tingling feeling that something was wrong but I was worried after the news of his absence from school. So many thoughts came to mind, most ending gruesomely. I had to change that, focusing mainly on the positives. I prayed and trusted that everything will work out for good.

We searched everywhere and asked everyone especially the pupils that brought him home from school. I called in to be excused from tutoring (rescheduled to the next day) as this was emergency and quite mind-numbing.

After all the search and detective work. We deduced that he headed home a couple of hours ago and alone which was beyond shocking but never made it home.

On returning home, he was sighted in the backyard playing in the gardens with cartons after having stayed at a neighbor's house downstairs for hours and getting bored came out to play. He told them we weren't home and have been there since he returned from school. I guess he wanted a change of environment without letting us in on it.

I was in shock for the remainder of the day and had to tutor on a Saturday morning which most definitely changed the look of my entire day. I am grateful it was this rather than the opposite.

I am grateful for the gift of life and for thriving. Hope you are thriving as well.
