✨MAKING MAGIC HAPPEN! [AUG.25.2021] #AutomaticWin 🏅
This isn’t just a story... it’s an ADVENTURE!
I’m going to be talking a little bit about magic as well... because this adventure actually turned into a quest to find (or shall we say MAKE!) magic!
...for it is all around you and it is in many forms! (But I’ll talk more about that in depth in an UP-and-coming post!)
So the entire month of August (and maybe before that... I don’t know anymore! Hahaha! 😅) I have been busy with the launch of @Comet.Ranker and #CometWeek! These have been monumental projects but fueled by a passion and drive to move Hive towards a friendlier future! One that welcomes everyone and setsUP the game for people to have FUN and WIN! (Those go together like peanut butter and jelly don’t they?!)
So yeah!
When @dreemsteem told me about the #DreemPortChallenge she was hosting I immediately said YES! YES! YES! And every week on Wednesday for the last 4 weeks I have gottenUP super early and headed out my door to get my #AutomaticWin (10,000 steps before 10am), find nifty pics, and think about how I can make people smile for that day...
And I did it too!!!
I had so many amazing experiences and pictures to prove it... from petting bees! (Yes! You know it’s early when you can pet the bees! That’s what I tell my kids when they complain in the morning! Hahahaha! 😆) to catching beavers in mid-slap and sunrises in full bloom! 🌅 How wonderful it’s been!!!
But when it came time to buckle down and share all this wonder... that’s when I ran out of time ⏱, fizzled out of juice 🔋, or just HAD to double down on the #CometWeek White Paper and launching #CometWeek! ☄️ It was just toooooo important and I knew that I would have to deploy every amount of creativity that I could muster if things were to work out as planned!
So that’s what happened... and it’s actually the story of my life! And I bet a lot of you can relate to this... How many of you have started something with all those good intentions and then something happened... and now you have all of these unfinished but amazing ideas pilingUP all around you!
Getting things done is all about saying no sometimes... so that you can increase the value of your yes, focus focus focus, and get the BIG things done!
But what about all those wonderful things you don’t want to miss out on?
Well... sometimes you have to take a break from all the achievement to achieve something entirely different!
And THAT is where the magic begins!
It’s been there the whole time! Sitting right under your nose staringUP at you! But you were oblivious and didn’t realize it!
Ok! You follow me?! I hope so! 😜
Let’s get back to the beginning of this story! (Hahaha! You probably thought I would never say this! Right?! 🙃)
So as I mentioned... I have been gettingUP early on Wednesday's to get my 10K worth in steps right!?
And that’s when magic surprised me!
At first I heard it and it scared the living _________ out of me!
And then I lookedUP! And low and behold! There it was!
Can you see it? Do you know what it was? Because I tell you... you couldn’t miss it!
It was only for the briefest of moments... and then it floated right over head; the trees screening most of it!
I ran frantically through the forest paths attempting to cut it off! I ran like a wild man over logs, ducking under branches, leaping over puddles, dodging around rocks... but it was rapidly getting away from me and nothing I seemed to do could close the gap between me and my objective!
That’s when I came to the rivers edge scanning the horizon! THERE! It was was there! Floating lazily, un-effected by my frantic chase, drifting over the foggy river and ducking neatly out of sight behind the trees!
It was magic... but it was just out of reach!
That’s when I realized it!
Magic happens all around us every day!
Often we are completely unaware of its presence. Other times we see it but it’s way out of reach. Then there’s those times we see other people who have it and we sit on the sidelines wishing we had some of it too!
But you know what!
We gotta do better than that!
We can’t expect life to toss magic in our lap while we piddle puddle our lives away!
NO!
We gotta be intentional!
We gotta stop dreaming our dreams and wakeUP and LIVE OUR DREEMS! (We can look at the backs of our eye lids another time right?! Hahaha! 😂)
So that’s when a plan began to formulate! I was going to have me some of that MAGIC!!! Ohhhhh yes I was!
I wasn’t going to be content with the magic floating on out of reach like that!
I was going to intercept that magic with not just intent but a master plan!
...and I was going to compound that magic by showing my wonderful daughter how she too could either catch magic... or make it herself!
I was going to bring her along on this adventure!!!
An adventure too find real life MAGIC!
And so that’s where our story begins! (As you can see waaaayUP there at the top of this post in the photo!)
And so I gotUP early this morning... it was brisk and I could tell that the sun would be cresting the horizon in the next little while!
My @Actifit step count said, “You are at ZERO steps for today!”
I woke @littlem UP and asked her, “Do you want to getUP and look for magic?!” Her eyes popped open like every 9 year old's would and she said, “YESSS!”
And so off we went looking for signs of the magic all around (especially the early morning sort!)
And it didn’t take long!!!
We found it! It was EVERYWHERE!
But we both got REALLY EXCITED when we found the EXACT SORT OF MAGIC we were looking for!
But our adventure got even cooler when the balloonist waved for us TO COME INSIDE THE BALOON! WHHHHAAATTTT?! CAN YOU EVEN DO THAT? 😮
Now inside a balloon! That's where you find some REAL MAGIC! WOW! 😲
But then it was time!
My daughter got to see the magic of heat and cold and what it can actually do! She was in wonder let me tell you... and so was I for that matter! How cool is this and it's not something you see every day... unless your intentional and actually act on some sort of plan!
**Look at those flames! This emoji doesn't even do it justice! hahaha! 👉🔥
And poof! The balloon stands to attention at the balloonists command!
Time to really heat thingsUP! They don't call this a hot air balloon for nothing! Good thing the fellow has 2 fuel tanks (and a spare just in case) to take him from point 🅰️ to ❗️❓ right!?
And just like magic... he takes to the air and I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself! I managed to intercept a magical moment...
...and I managed to capture it as well! 🤣
An exchange of goodbyes from our friendly balloonist! What a nice guy he was! He said that he didn't often see kids out at this hour so he wanted to let us look around inside and watch up close as he took off! So so cool!
I'm pretty sure a balloon ride is in her future... what do you think? That's some more magic that we can plan together!
And once the balloon dipped out of sight (for the second time! hahaha!) that's when the sun sent it's first morning rays beaming down on us!
And I told my Little... That the real magic was that we had gotten to share this adventure together! I LOVE YOU @LittleM! 😊 I couldn't ask for a better daughter. You and your sister @tinym are truly my rays of sun and your mother @wonderwow is my sunshine! ❤️🌞❤️
And yes! We both made it to our #AutomaticWin’s this morning! 10,000 steps before 10am!

That sounds like a great time! Hot air balloons are awesome!
Yeah they are! We had such an amazing time... And we didn't even fly! So that tell you how much fun it was! Next time I think I'm going to take my daughter UP for a balloon ride! I priced them out and it's $250 - $300 Canadian per. Person. I could fly half way across Canada for that by jet... But for some reason... a Hot Air Balloon ride seems to be the ticket! 😆
Or maybe the guy who let you look around would take you both along :) ...
He probably doesn’t because it’s a liability thing... taking strangers (even cute ones) up in a ballon is a recipe for disaster over the long run! It’s all about trust... and maybe a little bling!
I have plans to take my daughter on a ballon ride... maybe next summer I’ll have a ballon UPdate... we shall see!
I can understand that! Is a shame that good deeds can't be given freely in this world though.

I'm so pleased that you enjoyed it Jay! I actually brought the Nikon with me for this one. (About half of the photos are shot with that and the other half with my iphone.) I was thinking about you the entire time and trying my best to capture the magic as it was happening! It was lots of fun... and honestly! It's been awhile now since I have done a #WednesdayWalk! (even though I "have been doing them" for the last 4 weeks! hahaha!)

I just swung back to check it out I had kept the tab eith it open as I had noticed you had marked a couple of spots for pictures that you had not added and glad I did those extra shots you added really made the post more magical

Say! I got a question!
I was attempting to upload as many pictures as I could to this post... Just for kicks and giggles and a bit of curiosity too! I got to 42 pictures UPloaded. Is that @peakD's max? Is that the blockchain's max on UPloaded pictures? Now I'm wondering because there must be some sort of limit right?!
I think it’s not so much how many photos as the limit is on the file sizes or total of all the file sizes I think there is a max you can upload
When I export my photos I limit the file size and haven’t hit that issue for a long while
I think it's because I UPloaded the RAW files straight from my Nikon. Didn't really do a lot to the photos as I was running out of time today. That's probably what it is. Your right. It's likely File Size added together for all the photos.
I'm going to ask @mcfarhat about this as he might have an idea (on @Actifit's end) about this. I'll let you know if I find out anything. 🙃

I just UPloaded my screen capture proof of #AutomaticWin with no trouble. That's a much much smaller file than the last RAW I was attempting to UPload. So at least I got that into the post!
I guess I'll save the rest of the photos I selected for my daughter to make a post tomorrow... That should keep her out of my hair for a bit! (Not that I have any! hahaha!)

Hopefully my post gave you a little breath of fresh air! I know that we all need that from time to time on this blockchain! It shouldn't be this heavy... But it often is!
The way I see it... If people are having fun then we are all winning! Sure... There's reason to keep an eye on less than good behavior on this Blockchain... But we can't make the blockchain all about that! It's got to be a fun and friendly social environment first and foremost!
Other wise... how are we going to win?
It's pretty much a rule for social! He/She who has the most fun wins!
We need more winning around here... People have actually got to feel like they are winning... Other wise who's going to tell let alone bring their family, friends, and famous to the blockchain? NO ONE. [period]
Cool, man, cool. Yeah a breath of fresh air is a very apt description. Here in Phoenix it's 103F...so even fresh air comes in hot, hot, hot.

It really was an amazing father daughter experience and actually this was one of the highlights of my summer! I'm glad I got to share it here with you and the rest of the people leaving comments!
For me... Life is all about tying heart strings between myself and the ones I love. They start off as cobwebs and over time with love and consistency they will turn into cables of strength that can stand and withstand all the vicissitudes of life.

Well what an adventurous day you guys had out an about walking AND even (almost) flying high..And you're so right, magic is in the trees, magic is in the air, magic is in your dancing feet and magic is EVERYWHERE and that's not only one of the best things about the Wednesday Walk community, but most of the communities in Peakd-Hive, and that is the ability to remind everyone that there is magic everywhere, because we are on the lookout for it- with every contest, challenge, initiative, topic and action.
To look up to the clouds and down to the shadows, across to the reflections, to capture sunsets/sunrises, the trees, the flowers, amazing nature and everything between.
My eyes were open- or atleast I thought so, until I Stumbled into Hive last year and now I look up, down, in, out and around at everything and everyone and I see people watching me out of the corner of their eyes scratching their heads and I laugh with joy because I know one thing- and that's how much more I'm going to learn because of Hive.
By the way, I am hosting the Live #hivechat by @jeanlucsr and @traciyork next Tuesday on Twitter and it will be entertaining to say the least! 😆

That does like some magic Dad-Daughter time. I've only ever been up close to a hot air balloon once in my life, but it was a stationary one tethered to the ground just used to take tourists up and down. I'd love to see a hot air balloon festival and launching. I think you found the magic on this morning.
Oh it was THE BEST Justin! Now it's got me thinking... What are the other ways that I can make magical things happen in an ordinarily ordinary life!
Magic is happening all around... But if you want some of it... You gotta get out there and get some of it! Bringing your loved ones along ensures that no matter if your pickingUP dog doo doo or riding in a hot air balloon... There's going to be magic! ✨
I think of it like this...
The bird makes it's nest... But it still must leave it's nest in search of the seed it needs to sustain it's self! Live is interesting in that way... and it shows the curious observer how important it is to be observant and mindful!

Honestly there is nothing more precious than creating these dreams.
These are the kind of memories that you'll be visiting all through life.
I am sure that each time she sees a balloon in the sky she will think of this day and how daddy made it special for her.
I hope one day soon she will get a ride in the hot air balloon.

Yeah right!? There's something cool about being above it all... just looking down from the sky.
I sometimes go small aircraft flying with a friend of mine... Every time I fly I'm reminded of how small and insignificant my problems in life really are. If I can just change my state and rise above it all... the mud and muck bellow doesn't look nearly so bad.
For me... I'm looking forward to sharing a balloon ride with my daughter. Perhaps next summer?

What a small world that you are from Edmonton... guessing it is Alberta? My uncle and cousins live there... man this post made me miss him quite a bit. One of my favorite pictures is that of the footprints in the grass... It really goes to show you sometime when we just silence out the noise of society and focus on the little beautiful things it truly is magical... I am trying to find what that "magic" looks like and means to me and this post was definitely rather filling to one's spirit.
Hopefully you decide to post and share some more of your thoughts and journeys again.

first of all, @littlem is gorgeous and has a wonderful smile and I guess it's because she knows how lucky it is to have an exciting dad that would wake her up so early in the morning so she could partake in the magic he found.
I have a degree in aerospace engineering but I have never seen a hot air balloon in my life. Only heaven knows what I wouldn't do to have gotten such a beautiful experience. And yes, I think the balloonist was so kind to let you capture those breathtakingly beautiful pictures.
Lastly, I don't think I have had this much fun on Hive as I have had this week and all thanks to you and @comet.ranker. I will take this experience as a lesson and engage with everyone and anyone as spreading wonderful pings makes the world a better and warm place.
If ever you need any form of help with @Comet.Ranker from hence I will be more than glad to help out.

You know... I'm so amazed that you are a aerospace engineer! I'm even more amazed that you have yet to see a hot air balloon! They are truly AMAZING things to see flying through the ski and when you have a chance I 100% recommend going out of your way to see one! (and maybe even fly in one?!)
I have decided to take @littlem on another early morning adventure this coming summer! I am going to take her on a hot air balloon ride! This experience was so magical for the both of us that I decided this just had to happen! My daughters smile is the most amazing thing though... Just seeing pure joy on her face will be totally worth it! That's true magic for any dad I think! 😁
