This is an insult!

We have less than one week left to get to 1st place in the Noonies Social Network of the Year contest! Over 5,000 people have voted, and I think that number can get a lot higher as the contest draws to an end. It is a close race and we can help Steemit earn some well deserved bragging rights.

I will be giving out upvotes all week long for people who prove they voted. If we win, everyone that participated will have a chance to win extra Steem.

I will be dividing up 1,000 Steem to random participants that post proof of work below, IF we win!

This drop is not an insult, but the truth. Nowadays people are not so active on the Steem blockchain. Steemit as a dApp is not an exception. When I post something with Steemit, I rarely receive human comments, so it is not so social. There are way better social dApps on the Steem blockchain. For example dPoll. But the number of the active users on the Steem blockchain is declining. There are more than 1.2 million Steem accounts, but nowadays less than 50 000 accounts are active daily.
And less and less. It was 50 000 a few monhs ago.
Nowadays it is around 40 000.
According to the last Steem Stats report by @penguinpablo (Daily Steem Stats Report - Friday, August 9, 2019), the number of daily accounts transacting is around 40 000 in the last 8 days.

This is a sad but accurate appraisal.
Of those active 40,000 accounts, how many are bots ?
Or sub accounts of whales who are stroking their own egos ?
It all feels like a missed opportunity

We can't deny that Gab has done some interesting user-generated marketing and hype all over the mainstream media, not to mention their Dissenter extension is one good tool to have on the internet.

That being said, Steem's on the Blockchain!! And we don't see Gab bettering anyone's lives by allowing some of their users to actually earn a living wage partly from the Blockchain.

So here we go!

Do you know that votes are counted via cookies on individual web browsers?

I have about 7 web browsers on my computer, you bet i did what i did, i even had to open up MICROSOFT EDGE (eww) to so that steemit can get yet another extra vote for me.. But it's worth it.

I also already told the guys at @coingecko to give their votes in the Noonies, no doubt they'll go vote at other categories too and support Bitcoin (make sure you vote Bitcoin as best open source project! No Bitcoin, no crypto, no steem!)

Maybe you should do something about witnesses driving harassing people and driving them off of steem/steemit. I promoted steem/steemit for over 3 years and I sure as hell wouldn't vote for it with the way things are now.
