Natürlich ist der Bach nicht schief, aber ...

... actually, the two photos are just one that I divided in two, because if you look at it as a single photo, the picture or the brook looks somehow crooked. But I think this illusion is caused by the non-horizontal logs in the lower half of the photo.

... eigentlich sind die zwei Fotos nur eines das ich geteilt habe, denn wenn man es als Einzelfoto betrachtet, dann schaut das Bild beziehungsweise der Bach irgendwie schief aus. Ich denke aber, diese Täuschung entsteht durch die nicht waagrechten Holzstämme auf der unteren Hälfte des Fotos.

I took the photo last Saturday during my little walk in the forest behind my parents' house. I had hoped for colder weather and icy waterfalls, but the last few days had been too warm. The autumn colors have also completely faded and the forest has become relatively colorless.

Das Foto habe ich letzten Samstag bei meinem kleinen Waldspaziergang im Wald hinter meinem Elternhaus aufgenommen. Eigentlich hatte ich auf kälteres Wetter und vereiste Wasserfälle gehofft, aber die letzten Tage waren zu warm gewesen. Auch die Herbstfarben sind inzwischen vollkommen verblasst und der Wald ist relativ farblos geworden.

Very interesting photo .... 🤗
it looks like a big waterfall and it's actually really small .... and when you look at the whole photo .... you see an interesting river and autumn scenery.

Because of the lack of colors I didn't like that photo very much, and you are right, the waterfall is quite small. After rainfalls and in Spring or Summer much more water flows there and the scene looks really good though.

Yes, the colors are real in the fall, I believe they are nicer in the Spring and Summer. With more water I believe it is a much nicer waterfall.

You are saying it right - Spring and Summer, and also the Autumn are very colorful in this forest, but now in Winter it ist just dark and colorless.
There won't be snow this weekend, but we have quite nice weather, so I do not mind ;)

Its probably me, but I do like original photography the most. It looks (as you said)like is leaning a bit to the left, but thats ok. It's great photography anyway. In nature not every time you can nicely center and line.
But I understand that you as a true photographer needed to split the photo.

Ja, komisch, nicht wahr - ich habe versucht, es zu drehen, aber dann schaut es noch komischer aus, und so habe ich es zweigeteilt, um zu sehen, wie es dann ausschaut. Da ist der Effekt dann nur mehr im unteren Teil, aber nicht mehr wirklich erkennbar - ich habe in unserem Wald eine optische Täuschung gefunden ;)

There's a waterfall above and one further below that stream, but there was not enough water and so I'll go there next time when I visit my parents.

why does the water look so foggy?

That's because of the long exposure of more than one second - it makes the water look like is has such a white veil or on still water like on a lake a long exposure photo creates silky effects.

The result numbers have been only two points apart, but if you look at the single results you know where she was in front ... never mind, the week later I was clearly in front and in 3 days we will see, if my hurting fingers have made it again ;) lol

Yes, you said once you go to bed at 1 or 2 in the morning - I could never stay up so long, at least not every day. If I did stay up so long I wouldn't be able to photograph any sunrise anymore ;)

I usually get up at 5 and begin to work at 6, but on weekends or on holidays I sometimes get up at 3 or 4, depending on where I want to go and when I want to be there :)

Mrs. J knows that that's the best time of the day. Never mind if you are working or if you are off work - on that time of the day you are quite alone and you can enjoy the peaceful start of the day ... 🙂

Yeah, we have been talking about these before - they all seem to leave their brains at home. Maybe because of the weight they are allowed to carry with them on the airplane ;)

If one engages he gets !ENGAGE 100 from me, if one is thirsty I give him a !BEER and in the morning he gets a !COFFEEA instead, but if he is !DERANGED I will send him to the !MARLIANS !shop where he can buy anything he wants 😉

No, I meant their brains might be too heavy to carry them as carry-on baggage on the plane, so they leave them at home, because tourists don't need no brains anyway ... that was not nice of me, I know ;) lol

I know you won't, because I know you and what you are thinking about tourists. The people here even won't nitice that you are a tourist ... until you order a Wiener Schnitzel (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiener_schnitzel) with some sauce over it ;)
I don't know if you have eaten a Wiener Schnitzel or how you eat it, but I have seen some photos from the states where they put a sauce over the Schnitzel, and that's weird ;)

Yes, but most times you get it with pork meat instead of veal, because it's cheaper and in my opinion it also tastes better.
In Austria you won't get it with sauce anyway.

Most tourists are OK and they are welcome, as well as the others are welcome, although they behave like "tourists". I am glad that I'm not in the tourist business and that I'm not dependent on the income that tourists bring, because I wouldn't have the patience that is needed to work in this business, if you know what I mean 😉

Sometimes it is really entertaining when you watch their behaviour, as long as you are not involved in it yourself.
