Another day without. My Actifit Diary: April 10 2026

I had weird dreams. I think. Not sure, but I woke up with a weird feeling. Nero came by for his breakfast, so I took a video for Lily and sent it to her mom’s Whatsapp. No idea if she’ll get to watch it. According to her mom, Lily can always talk to me when she wants. But it’s easy to distract a 7 year old from that. Nothing I can do about that – but I can keep sending voice messages and videos. Just in case, for the slim chance that she’ll see it one day. And for being able to say that it wasn’t on my side.

The gym was good today. I’m pushing myself a little more these days, a little more weight here, a little more repetitions there, a higher resistance on the stationary bike. It feels good. I’m playing with some diet changes, too, as mentioned. Almonds and walnuts are my go-to snack. In meals, I mostly leave out the rice or pasta and such, and just use veggies and some sort of bean or such. But today is Friday, and that means jam session, and probably a few beer. Not much protein in beer. Who cares. I’m experimenting, not dogmatizing.

After gym I had a long call with one of my best friends who lives in Serbia. After a year or so. He always makes fun of that, how he suggested it many times, but it always falls into the void of me being too busy. But now I’ve got quite a lot of time, involuntarily.

Being a single father is indeed very exhausting, and there’s not much I could do about it. So, one of my mechanisms to cope with the situation is picking up parts of my life that had been neglected in the last 20 months. Seeing the positive, maybe.

The Jamsession was a lot of fun. And now it's time to go to bed, maybe. Only 10pm. On a Friday. But I walked through town and everything is closing. That's a hint. Have a good night!

Reading your post; another good nut for snacking is called Virginia Peanuts. They are blanched and lightly salted. They have no oil added and are considered a 'green' food. Very filling if you chew them up to a paste like consistency.

The jam session looks like fun!
