Terence Crawford Vs Shawn Porter Aftermath
So they had we had the Terence Crawford vs Shawn Porter Fight Last weekend, which was an amazing boxing match. In the Terence Crawford was able to stop, one of my favorite fighters, Shawn Porter, and prove to boxing fans that Crawford is really one of the pound-for-pound best fighters in boxing.
This was a close fight that I was really surprised to see Shawn's trainer Kenny Porter stop. I understand that Shawn is his son, but as a fan, if Porter has a chance to win that fight and be champion again, you should let him fight.
I just wasn't a fan of the stoppage but the more Kenny explains his thought process, I can see how he would make that decision.
Immediately following the fight Shawn Porter actually retired after a great career. I love his fighting style and I'm gonna miss seeing him fight but he really has maxed out and has done all he can do in boxing.
He's fought all the top guys, he's a two-time champion and an overall badass fighter who brought a different energy to the sport that fans loved to watch.
But if you like to speculate, his sparring partner for this fight and lightweight champ Gervonte Davis still thinks Porter may not be all the way done!
Even more interesting though is what was going on with Terence Crawford After the fight.
He announced that he was going to be parting ways with Bob Arum and Top Rank Boxing. I think that this is gonna be a move that allows Crawford to get the fights that he's been looking for, which is exciting because I feel like Crawford wants the same thing we fans want.

There are some other fighters stepping up for a chance to fight him like Keith Thurman but I just want to see Crawford win now. He's talented and believes he's one of the greats, and he should be able to prove that without promoters getting in the way of him getting the fights that he needs...
But shoutout to both guys...
Both champions and guys with a lot of talent and a great future ahead of them!

I'm a boxing fan, but a strange kinda boxing fan. Because I stay in Nigeria most of these fights are fought by midnights in my time or times like 3am, so I'm never able to watch them live. I only watch old boxing matches on YouTube and its mostly fights of great names that I watch, from Ali to Tyson, to Lennox Lewis, to Chavez, to Mayweather. Many of these new fighters haven't really become great names yet at least to me in Nigeria 😅, but I love guys like Fury, Wilder, AJ, etc.
Of all the guys you've mentioned here I only know Canelo, I've watched a handful of his matches in YouTube. Since you say this Crawford guy is so talented I should check him out, I love really skillful fighters, top of my list is Mayweather jr, nobody I've ever watched comes close to him, what would you say in comparing Crawford to Mayweather jr skillwise?
Furry v Wilder 3 was epic man! They put on good performances.
But he has a different skill set than Floyd. He can fight both orthodox and southpaw, he’s got nice hand speed, and he hes got the power to finish guys. And he’s smart in the ring.
I think that’s the thing with both Crawford and Mayweather. They both have their things in hat they do better than anyone else and they both have high boxing IQ too.
They know how to read the moment and do the right thing at the right time no matter what “thing” needs to be done.
Interesting talents
Floyd can fight southpaw and orthodox too, I've seen him do it a lot of times and heard boxers and commentators give him credit for that. But Floyd doesn't really have the ability to knock guys out, or rather, I think he usually doesn't go for the knockout. A lot of times when he's landing a lot of Punches he would step back.
I'm going to check this Crawford guy out. He sounds like a guy I'll like to see fight Canelo.
