A este número de goles oficiales llegó en el día de ayer nuestro máximo exponente del futbol actual, el extraordinario Leo Messi, el GOAT para muchos.
Fue en un encuentro amistoso aprovechando la fecha FIFA como se ha dado en llamar a ese período de tiempo, generalmente de una semana completa y en ocasiones algunos días más, en el que los seleccionados de fútbol de la mayoría de los países del mundo se enfrentan, ya sea por alguna competencia internacional o en partidos amistosos y preparatorios como el que ayer disputaron Argentina y Panamá.
Este encuentro bastante dispar al menos en los papeles, se convirtió en un evento muy esperado por toda la afición argentina, fue la ocasión propicia para que la albiceleste debutara en su propio país con su tercera estrella estampada en la camiseta, recientemente obtenida en el mundial de Qatar.
Del encuentro no hay demasiado para decir, tuvo un protagonista casi excluyente que fue el campeón del mundo pero el equipo panameño se comportó dignamente y pese a haber reservado a algunas de sus principales figuras para un importante partido a disputarse el próximo día 28/03 por la liga de naciones de la Concacaf ante Costa Rica, se tomó muy seriamente su participación y presentó una férrea defensa que solo permitió 2 goles, su valla cayó vencida recién cuando se llevaban disputados 75 de los 90 minutos reglamentarios.
Sin embargo eso no fue lo importante, el estadio Monumental, propiedad de club River Plate estaba totalmente colmado y la fiesta comenzó varias horas antes con espectáculos musicales, fuegos artificiales y otros eventos ideados y diseñados para entretener al público durante todo el tiempo de espera hasta el plato fuerte, la presentación del campeón del mundo.
Todos esperábamos a nuestro ídolo, Leo Messi, más aún luego de su presente en el PSG donde el rendimiento del equipo y del propio Messi dista mucho de ser el ideal habiendo perdido hace pocos días la posibilidad de continuar en la disputa de la Champions League, algo que se le viene negando al más importante club francés desde siempre y que ha pasado a ser una obsesión y una frustración permanente.
Todos sabemos que un solo jugador no puede ganar campeonatos, necesita un equipo sólido y compenetrado con el objetivo, capaz de acompañarlo y darle el marco necesario para que pueda realizar su trabajo, algo que no pareciera estar ocurriendo y eso que el PSG no tiene un solo jugador desequilibrante y distinto, tiene al menos tres pero el equipo no funciona, no al menos en lo que se necesita para batir a otros grandes de Europa.
Muchos en Francia no quieren a Messi, se lo han demostrado permanentemente en estos últimos dos años y se nota que sufre por ello. Necesitaba un reconocimiento y un buen trato, y por supuesto ayer se lo dieron.
Y Messi respondió, no fue el del mundial como tampoco lo fue el funcionamiento del equipo, se notaron esos tres meses en que no compartieron entrenamientos, charlas técnicas y concentraciones, sin embargo la jerarquía alcanzó para mostrar destellos de ese gran equipo que ganó en el año 2022 la copa América, la Finalísima y el mundial.
Volviendo un poco al partido, tan importante fue el asedio al arco de Panamá que se notó en varias faltas cerca del área que sus jugadores tuvieron que conceder, estando Messi para patear los tiros libres eso es algo casi suicida y así ocurrió, pateó 6 tiros libres, dos fueron atajados por el arquero en gran reacción, 1 fue desviado y de los otros 3, 2 pegaron en los palos y uno fue gol. De los 2 que rebotaron en los postes 1 provocó el primer gol por parte de Thiago Almada, una de las jóvenes promesas de 21 años de edad que actualmente milita en el Atlanta United, en la liga norteamericana.
Con el gol de tiro libre Messi llegó a los 800 goles en partidos oficiales, de ellos 672 los convirtió para el Barcelona, 99 con la camiseta de la selección nacional y 29 con la del PSG. En su carrera tiene récords para todos los gustos, por ejemplo, ha convertido 5 goles en un mismo partido en 2 ocasiones, 6 veces hizo 4 goles en un partido, 49 veces hizo 3 y en 151 encuentros convirtió 2 goles. Su promedio total es de 0,79 goles por encuentro disputado y la cantidad de asistencias asciende a 353. Ha obtenido 42 títulos con sus equipos y posee 78 premios individuales.
El próximo martes 28/03 la selección argentina disputará su segundo y último encuentro de la fecha FIFA ante Curazao, otro rival con escasos pergaminos.
El siguiente objetivo de Messi es llegar a los 100 goles con la selección y quizás en este próximo encuentro pueda cumplirlo. Después de eso veremos, aparentemente seguirá jugando para la selección nacional pero no se conoce si continuará en el PSG o se irá con otro destino, todos sabemos que su carrera está más cerca del final, sin embargo, sus ganas están intactas y todavía le queda algún récord para romper.

Sin dudas fue una fiesta, todo lo que no pudo hacerse en el Obelisco se dio en el Monumental. Show, festejos, emociones, himno y hasta Lio se dio el lujo de hacer un GOLAZO como nos tiene acostumbrados. Por su puesto el futbol queda de lado, pero los 800 goles en su carrera son un motivo mas para festejar!

Exactamente, fue una fiesta total. Algo absolutamente merecido por todo ese gran equipo que consiguió el tan preciado como esquivo título. Y no me refiero solo a los jugadores, todos en general, cuerpo técnico, médicos, masajistas, cocineros, utileros. Un gran equipo para un tremendo logro.

Primero que nada, gracias por seguir eligiendo nuestra Comunidad para "hacer correr la tinta de vuestra pluma". Ha sido una fiesta total la vivida en el Monumental, han vuelto Messi y la Scaloneta para disputar su primer encuentro como Campeones reinantes del Orbe. EL rival y el desarrollo de una encuentro amistoso e intrascendente -como bien menciona- han sido lo de menos, la fiesta era la que realmente importaba y hemos visto al seleccionado argentino al completo disfrutar su momento en casa y con los suyos. ¡Momentos dulces que otorga el fútbol!
En cuanto a Lio, ¿Qué decir? 800 goles en su carrera profesional, ya el palo le había negado lo que iba a ser una joya de gol que a la postre fue empujada contra las redes bajo la rubrica de Thiago Almada, pero minutos más tarde el propio Lionel se haría justicia en otra pelota parada. Está ahora a un gol del centenar con la Albiceleste y su leyenda sigue creciendo sin ver techo.
