First training session of the year | My Actifit Report Card: January 2 2026

Greetings, fitness enthusiasts! Yesterday, for New Year's, many establishments were closed, and I understand why. Everyone deserves to rest and enjoy the new year, and I took my break too. Today, I returned to the gym for my first workout of the year. I'm so happy to have gone consistently for a whole year, and this year will be the same, although I'm going to change my goals a bit.

Last year, I wanted to get abs, but it was quite a difficult goal. I started a diet specifically for that purpose and ended up losing fat in areas where I needed it. For example, being a woman, I reached a point where I lost a lot of fat from my breasts, and at that point, I decided to modify my diet to avoid losing more fat. This made achieving that goal more challenging, although I did manage to define my abs a bit more, and it shows.

I managed to get stronger and have more endurance; however, I think my strength needs improvement. Just lifting heavy weights won't help me. I need real strength. I'm still not able to lift my own body weight, and that's frustrating for me personally. So this year I'll take a mixed approach, as I plan to include some calisthenics exercises.

Today I focused my workout on my glutes. I didn't do any cardio. I admit I've been a little lazy with that since December, but I think that break did me good. Starting Monday, I'll reintroduce cardio and try to reach my goal of 10,000 steps a day.

Saludos gente de la vida fitness, ayer por año nueva evidentemente muchos establecimientos están cerrados y lo entiendo, todos merecen descansar y disfrutar del año nuevo, yo también me tomé mi descanso. Hoy nuevamente volví al gym para hacer mi primer entrenamiento de este año, estoy tan feliz por haber asistidos consecutivamente por un año entero y este año será lo mismo, aunque voy a cambiar un poco las metas.

El año pasado quería tener abs pero fue una meta bastante difícil, además de que empecé una dieta para ese objetivo y estuve perdiendo grasas en zonas donde la necesitaba, por ejemplo, yo por ser mujer llegó un punto donde perdí mucha grasa de los senos y en ese momento decidí modificar mi dieta para no seguir perdiendo más grasa, por lo que se me complicó esa meta, aunque ciertamente si logré definir un poco más el abdomen y se nota.

Logré ser mas fuerte y tener mas resistencia, sin embargo, creo que mi fuerza necesita mejorar, no solamente cargar pesado me va a ayudar, yo necesito fuerza real, aun no soy capaz de cargar mi propio peso corporal y eso es frustrante personalmente para mi, así que este año haré un enfoque mixto, ya que planeo incluir algunos ejercicios que se practican en la calistenia.

El día de hoy hice entrenamiento enfocado en la zona de glúteos, no hice cardio, admito que he estado un poco floja con eso desde el mes de diciembre pero creo que ese descanso me hizo bien, desde el lunes integró nuevamente el cardio y trataré de llegar a mi meta de los 10k pasos diarios.
