Second Run Post partum and didn't do too
Bad. Made my way to the track managed 7 loops and headed back home. Was embracingly slow, but at least im moving. We focus on the positives, and we move forward.
On my way to the track, i kind of ran past an informal settlement. It's actually situated right behind the track, and u heard a good couple of gunshots. It's crazy how the area has just gotten so unsafe over the past 10 years. As a woman, i take a risk running alone here, but i also feel we need to be brave and show a presence. We need to take back our area.

Well done on getting out, but that sounds a bit scary. Take care!

Is it weird how im not that scared. I suppose growing up in Sourh Africa you develop thick skins and a good amount of street smarts. And its not like im running in the thick of the shooting. Like I said its the next area, just happens to be on the boarder of the stadium. Where I stay is not the safest area but by far not one of the worst either. Even when I stayed i Muizenverg, by far a better area. But people still got robbed running or walking outside. But it was slightly safer. I think you run thatbrisk anywhete here if you alone. So you gotta have your smarts about you.
