The Liver King is a bit nuts but has some good points

This guy is impossible to ignore because he is just so "out there." He is in unreal shape and he doesn't live his life in a traditional sense at all. He clearly has a very intense workout regimen and is very dedicated to the way of life and fitness that he has chosen. I like some of the advice that he gives but others I believe could be dangerous. Then there is also the very widespread talk about one thing that he isn't telling us, which is the suspicion that he is juicing on roids.

This guy is definitely worth looking at because he is so animated and entertaining and I think that this is something that all of us could deal with having in our lives. There is a very good chance that you are not going to be able to stick to his routine though since a lot of it revolves around eating uncooked meats as meals. Obviously, this could have disastrous effects if people just started eating tons of raw meat and that is something that i am not going to participate in and I don't recommend anyone else does either just because someone in sick shape says that he does it.

One thing that really impresses me about this guy is his age. He is 44, which is right around my own age. I know from living my own life that gaining muscle in your 40's is quite complicated and difficult, so for him to pack on the muscle the way he has and maintain it in such an impressive way is a big part of the reason why he gets so much attention... and also why he regularly gets accused of doping.

Some of his methods are bizarre but he also says other things that I think almost all people could benefit from. For starters he recommends that everyone should take several 30 minute walks a day. I am a big advocate of this because tons of research indicates that the simple act of walking is something that can lead to tremendous health benefits. I regard this as particularly important when it comes to weight loss. Many people believe that you have to be training really hard in order to experience weight-loss or just health but I disagree and my own results speak volumes about how the simple act of going for a walk can really improve your overall fitness. It also just happens to be a lot easier than running.

He also recommends that people get out in the sun more often and this when used properly to avoid sunburn, is a very good idea that was kind of stunted when we all started spending more and more time indoors to look at tablets and smartphones. Which brings me to my next point about Liver King that I totally agree with.

He states that it is crucial for health that we get away from the internet for a certain amount of time per day and I couldn't agree more. I think that the internet, and especially social-media has done a huge disservice to society as a whole not just in terms of fitness, but in terms of mental health as well. We all know people that just seem to live online and this is not a good way to live one's life... yet so many people are unable to cut the cord due to an unrealized or unwilling-to-recognize addiction to it.

Liver King encourages real-life connection with people and in-person socializing. I'm completely on board with this notion and truly believe it would contribute to society being better in a general sense. Liver King goes a bit further to tell people that they should avoid being around Wi-Fi because of the harmful radiation (something along those lines) and this is where he loses me. Of course there could be truth to it, but if you live in an urban area like I do, good luck in accomplishing that.

It is also worth noting that Liver King is the CEO of 4 companies and most of them sell supplements that he regularly promotes in his videos. This is always a bit of a warning sign to me because this means that he, and all other gurus like him, have an agenda when promoting their message and most of it leads to their own wallets.

Of course him getting busted ordering $11,000 worth of steroids and other PED's is probably going to damage these companies immensely because he clearly wasn't getting his results from them.

So while I would listen to some of what this guy has to say some of it is quite "out there." His major motivation is also to make money for himself and I think this is exhibited best when his message is to "stop using social media so much" while at the same time he is all over social media promoting himself. Once you appear on Joe Rogan, the largest podcast in the world, you can no longer claim that you are anti-social-media.

I'd listen to him a bit about the mental health side of things but in other ways I feel as though Liver King is just another influencer that has a body type that almost no one can achieve and that isn't going to change if you eat liver and buy his supplements.

So if you stay off social media doesn't that mean you won't see his stuff? I've never heard of him, but he is in extraordinary shape. That is beyond what most of us could ever achieve. It must be nearly a full time job to maintain that. I don't pay too much attention to fitness 'influencers', but I expect it's a big industry.

I can agree we should spend more time outdoors and with other people. I do spend a lot of time looking at screens, but I socialise too.

I was watching the European final of World's Strongest Man this week. Those guys do amazing things, but I don't aspire to look like them. I get that there are differences between nice looking muscles and sheer strength.

Stay well and have a great Christmas.

I've never really understood how someone "makes it" in the online world but he must have ticked all the right boxes because he is, or at least was, really widespread. He had a lot of bizarre suggestions for people but mostly was focusing on people bettering themselves. That was why it was so disappointing that after months of being in the spotlight and insisting that he did no PED's that it was exposed that not only was he on PED's but he was on a tremendous amount of them that would be well beyond the finances of anyone who was aspiring to look like him.

This is just another example of the fallacy of influencers and how they are all selling their line of products when in the end they know exactly what the real products is..... it's steroids.

oh and another thing about the world's strongest man competition. Those are truly amazing and very few if any of those guys are bodybuilders but I bet most of not all of them are on PED's of some sort. Actual bodybuilders would never take any of those guys on in a real strength competition because they know they would get destroyed. Some of the beasts I know in the gym will readily admit that their strength is not practical or even useful strength because honestly, what are you going to encounter in real life that is going to be the exact motion of a bench press?.

You don't see anyone competing in these strength tests with a flat stomach. They are all huge. I've no idea how much they test them for steroids. It's still incredible what they can do.

Same as Arnold in his prime saying eh used railway sleepers to build up his physique and never touched steroids. This is obvious or very suspicious when we know what it takes to get a properly defined muscular physique and it isn't natural. Normally the tell tale pock marks or loss of hair is visible somewhere and maybe he uses make up to cover these.

I do like how Arnold came clean 30 years later but honestly, if anyone was believing that BS that he was spouting back when he was "too muscular to play Conan in a movie" they truly had blinders on. Even as a kid I knew that he was on drugs. I don't like how Arnold is now a "clean, vegan eating" advocate now even though he was probably on 2000 grams of chicken a day along with 8 different kinds of steroids and HGH back in the day.
