Sunday morning hill repeats
Hi all,
Welcome back to my running blog!
I am a little low on weekly kilometers this week as I had to incorporate some extra resting days to allow my new tattoo to heal a bit. The healing process seems to be doing just fine, so for me time to get back to training!
Starting today there is a weather warning in our country for the next 5 days. This means high temperatures (>35C) with very high humidity, so I will try to do my runs early or late to avoid peak temperatures.
This morning my run started at 07:40 with already 21C and a nice sun. Perfect to do my hill workout.
My strategy for the session was a bit different compared to my usual approach. Normally I take all 3 routes on the hill and make make it an interval training (3 climbs => rest => repeat).
Today I skipped the more technical climb and focussed on keeping the workload high. No resting but climbing side a, decending side b, climbing side b, decending side a (repeat). This did felt very good. Running averages around 5:30 / km comfortabele.
As I need to be a little carefull with sun exposure I decided to call it a day when I started to notice a little stronger burning. Realizing my next training should be starting a little earlier.
But had a very fun session!
Happy running!
That is interesting that you had to stop to let it heal, Never heard of such a thing is it related to like sweating or stretching that area ?
Basicly it is open for the first week.
So you want to avoid heavy sweat (to avoid infection) and direct bright sunlight (to avoid that it will fade substancial in the first month)
I never had any so not in the loop , thanks for the educational ☺️
