Discription from Strava:

I've been running in the local Totora trails for about 12 months now but decided to make a slight change to the way I have been running the trails. I usually run from home, run about 5kms of trails and then run home.

Today started a new routine of riding my mountain bike to the park, doing a little trail riding before trail running and then eventually riding home. There is a trail race at the park in July and I thought this way of training for it would definitely challenge me and force me to do a lot more of the things I normally would not do.

I have always wanted to do some mountain bike riding but always been a bit afraid of it, so this is going to push me to do that as well as run off the bike, which is another thing I tend to forget. I was not feeling 100% but took the morning easy and it was a nice change. I look forward to improving my times and getting stronger on the trails.

Nothing wrong with walking the steep hills on a trail. We have watched plenty of you tube video of the elite Ultra runners "hiking the sh_t out it" (the hills) with hands on there legs, helping push down. They recon its the most effect use of energy for those sort of events.

You're making me think I could ride to somewhere I could run. There are lots of places I could explore like that. Enjoy those trails.
