steevc just finished a 5.14km run, that lasted for 33 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 372.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
The forecast was accurate in that it was raining this morning. I put on my 'waterproof' jacket for what good it would do. I decided to stick fairly close to home and so ran down various streets in the village.

Arlesey is spread out along a north-south road. It was thought to be the longest village in the country at some point, but that may not be the case now. It is only in the last few months that it gained a third road out. It is spreading sideways with various new streets. I ran down some of those to make up the distance to 5km. I added a bit of a climb by crossing the railway footbridge and then coming over the road bridge that leads to the tree nursery and some industrial units. That bridge is not pretty, but then few people see it.

It was really wet, so I was soaked through, but it was not too cold and I was not out long enough for it to be really bad. I nearly forgot about feeding the chickens, so had to pop out again to sort them out. They have some shelter from the rain. I will go out later to clean out the coop. We may be lucky and get another egg.

I did a little jazz drumming on my acoustic kit last night as I had the house to myself. I find I can play softly so as not to deafen myself. I was looking into new drum heads that will suit this sort of music. There is so much stuff you can buy for drums.

Enjoy your day and run free.

I wasn't staying out longer than necessary in the rain. Normally I'd go further.

I think I only ever bought one drum head the whole time I had my snare. I remember breaking it doing something and I had to buy a new one. My marching drum I broke once or twice. Nice job on your run!

My drums have the original heads that may not be the best. They are bound to affect the sound. There is such a range of options though and a set is not cheap. I am reading up on what I might need. Coated single ply seems to be it. I am not going to be a loud rock drummer.

I agree, it is pretty crazy the number of options there are out there. Even more than when I was playing. Technology is amazing!

The weather did not seem good due to the rain but you are able to run in it. You seem to have more passion for running that you even forgot to feed the chickens, it a good thing you remember on time. A new drum head is not a bad thing.

I think there’s a kind of joy some people derive from drumming. Just people like you, lol
It’s a good thing to know though

I always prefer engaging in run in the morning much more than afternoon due to the weather

Keep up that great running! It shows dedication going out in the rain!

I bet the drum equipment get expensive too, I know all the guitar stuff has gotten really expensive lately.

I look out for second hand gear, but it can take time. I was lucky with the drum kit I found.
