steevc just finished a 8.78km run, that lasted for 77 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 605.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
This was my first parkrun in a while. I had hoped to do one on my trip, but that did not work out. I still ran in Canada and the USA plus some cycling, but I need to get back into regular runs.

It has been a little damp in the UK, so the course was 'soft'. The turnout was not too bad though with just over a hundred. I met a lady who runs there on the way and we had a chat. I actually saw her as we walked home from the station the other day.

Also on the way there I saw a very smashed up BMW. It looks like someone crashed into it whilst it was parked and pushed it into the truck behind that also got damaged. There was no sign of the other vehicle. No doubt the local Facebook will have something about this.

I found the run hard work and my hip was nagging a bit after being fine whilst I was away. It is not as bad as before though. I managed to keep going. One of the regulars who usually finishes behind me got ahead and I could not catch him. That is okay though.

My time was not great, but I need to get back into my training regime. Although I did a lot of walking on holiday that may not compensate.

My next parkrun will be my 100th. That has been a long time coming. I may even get the shirt to mark it.

Run free!

The local facebook is usually a hive of information on events such as these. Its all I use it for now!

It can be totally random in there, but I get some useful news from it. So far I've not seen anything about this one. I didn't have my phone with me or there would be photos here.

You didn't have your phone? Good grief. I didn't think such things happened in the 21st century! :OD

LOL! It is about the only time I don't have it with me. I can log my run with just my watch and do not want any extra weight to slow me down. Not that it would make a big difference.

Congratulations on sticking to it! I've given up running and made myself content with walking. Too many old nagging injuries to do running anymore. Keep up the hard work, it burns a lot of calories and a great way to reduce stress!

I know running is not for everyone, but it works for me. We all need some activity in our lives.

Indeed! One of the guys there is visiting Namibia and says there is a parkrun there that we will try to do. I want to get to more locations when I can, but time is an issue. I would have hoped to reach 100 earlier, but I was doing it less regularly before and then COVID intervened. Actually I have done 100, but I forgot my barcode at one :)
