steevc just finished a 7.52km run, that lasted for 46 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 537.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
Yesterday was pretty wet and windy. I managed to avoid the worst of it when coming home from work, but I heard it was really bad on the roads later with some flooded. This morning there was not much to see of that. It was cool and sunny with just a few puddles around.

I did my usual morning loop with no attempt at extra speed. I just want to improve my endurance for the 10k at the moment. I would like to be going quicker, but will have to build up to that.

I saw a black squirrel, but not much other wildlife. There were not even many dogs out today. I was conscious that is could be a little slippery in places, so I was taking care.

The old chapel for the former hospital was re-done a while ago and I assume it is apartments now. Meanwhile one of the other old buildings is covered in scaffolding. Maybe the roof needs some work. When I was in New York I could look down from our high hotel room and see some guys putting up scaffolding on another building. They just wander around several floors up, but some did use a safety line at times.

The fallen tree from Tuesday's run is still there. I expect the council will have a few to clear.

The main podcast listening was an interview with Andy Powers from Taylor guitars. He has been building them since he was very young, so has done his time. My Taylor is a great guitar even though it is from their budget range.

The weather looks better for the weekend. That is great as I have an outdoor gig on Sunday and may be at an event on Saturday that needs it to be dry.

Run free.

I hadn't really thought about it, but I don't know if there is another religious building for that community. When the hospital was operational I expect they had regular services in the chapel. We have a couple of churches in Arlesey, but I don't know how many go. We also have several old chapels that are now homes. Such is progress.

We're fine. No real damage here. Others may be less fortunate.

It is pretty crazy how some of those workers just wander around on the high steel like nothing is different from them just walking down the road. I skipped my workout this morning. My body was a little sore and I wanted to sleep in. Even though I didn't really sleep. I will get back at it tomorrow to finish out the week strong.

I'm not scared of heights as much as I'm scared of falling. If I feel safe then it's okay. Those scaffolding workers must have confidence in their skills.

I've been reading about the benefits of rest days. I don't run every day anyway.

I can agree with that. I am not a fan of heights, but I used to work on a high ropes course and if I am locked in with a proper harness, it isn't so bad. Still a bit unnerving, but you at least have faith in the harness.

There are a fair amount of church conversions going on in Glasgow. Which is a shame not that I have anything against it but the flats inside tend to be small shitty crmaped things with one good room

I guess they need to divide up a big space. At least churches tend to be pretty solid even if they are not known for being warm.

I tried to look up this place on Rightmove, but don't see any. I may have a nose next time to see how many doorbells it has :)

I have viewed one in a church and was totally impressed by the giant lounge with funky windows and then saw the other rooms and was scared off.

They are solid. Building with Stone is and was the way to go!

Apparently this one is divided into four, but I can't find pics.

A nice run there!

It is nice to rack up the numbers on distance regardless of speed I guess speed will come with consistency.

The route you took looks quite nice it seems there are lots of green areas around you and well that is always good.

It's not too bad around here really. I feel for those who have to run in city streets all the time. It may not be as polluted here.
